My first impression of Dr. Stewart was that this was the man that was going to save my life. He was so informative and taught me everything I needed to know about this surgery...the facts, the how to, the aftercare, and the risks. His staff was awesome. I always felt comfortable asking questions and they are always more than happy to answer. I was not even scared going into the surgery. I felt just fine with Dr. Stewart there.
He has an excellent bedside manner even after you leave the hospital. I had a throwing up episode the night I went home from the hospital and Dr. Stewart even called me the next day (a Saturday) to make sure that I was okay. :) Now thats a good doctor!

I was very satisfied with my physician and the outcome. It took some adjusting along the way but turned our fine.

Dr. Stewart is a very fine Doctor. My husband and I think the world of him. He is knowledgeable regarding this surgery. He as the kindest voice and humble denmeanor you'll ever find in a surgron.
He explained ever detail, complications, pros and cons to the best of our ability to understand.
His staff was always really nice to me the few times we actually had to go into for interview,pre-op class or phone calls that were quickly returned, emails too.
I din't get to meet with his nutrtionist on the day I was scheduled to go home, but perhaps we left before she could get to the hospital. I was just ready to come home so we will be making up for that loss I'm sure.
Dr. Stewart explains everything possibile regarding this surgery. His bed side manner was very pleasant.
I must say that surgical competence is more important to me obviously but bed side manner helps in the healing process!

My first imperssion was, This man knows what he is doing.

As time passes I have found my respect for Dr. Stewart has grown, this is a man who takes his job very seriously and dosent miss a thing.

Dr Stewarts staff is top notch

I like him a lot but if I had to point out one thing I guess I'd say he should laugh a little, it's ok to laugh and joke.

Dr Stewart is reserved, but very careful and knowledgeable about what he does, takes no chances with your health

He stressed the aftercare, and said if you couldnt make it to there group you needed to find one you could

Yes there is a program he offers it cost $1000.00 and the insurance wont pay for it, but he wont do the surgery without it.

I would say he spent as much or more time on the risks of surgery than the actual surgery he doesnt sugar coat anything he wants you to know all the risks

on a scale of 1-10, ten being the highest, I would give Dr Stewart an 11, he is the best I dont think there is anyone better than him, I am happy to put my life in his hands

Both are great, but I would take competence over bedside manner. Bedside manner doesnt lower your risks of complications.

Surgeron Daryl Stewart was a very nice person. I was really impressed with him from the 1st time I met Dr. Stewart. His office staff is very helpful especially Lea, since she had WLS she knows the answer to all your questions. I didn't think I was going to be approved bcz I thought Dr. Stewart'f office didn't know what they were doing when it came to filing my insurance and FMLA paperwork, but they got me approved on the 1st time. I was really impressed and won over at that time. You are required to have nutrional classes is the office so be prepared for the drive to Denton,TX. I would give Dr. Stewart and his office staff a rate of a 10 bcz they deserve it.

My first impression of Dr. Stewart was great. He conducted a 3 hour seminar himself and answered all the questions we had. His staff seems very caring. His coordinator is several years post op and very knowledgable of the whole procedure and will fight with the insurance companies to get approval. I have only been to the office once but have had phone contact with them several times. He and his staff strongly emphazises after care especially the do's and don'ts of what to eat and what will make you sick. He went through the list of risks during the seminar but being a nurse myself I knew all of this so it hasn't impacted me as much as it might a lay person. My former office manager is one year post op with Dr. Stewart and my step daughter is a medical office manager across the street from him. Her doctors have sent several people to Dr. Stewart. From both of these ladies I have heard nothing but great things about Dr. Stewart and I feel priviledged to be his patient. I am confident things will go well.

What was your first impression of him/her? He is awesome, he gave me faith that all would be good again and I would live to see my step grand children and my chilren's children. He is very knowledgable and I feel very comforatable and safe in his care.

How would you describe his/her office staff? Leah rocks!! She fought so hard for me with the insurance to get me approved. I almost cried when she told me I got an Approval. She asked me if I was ok, I told her "You made my day, that is better than hitting the lottery!"

How did he/she address the risks of surgery? Dr. Stewart went over every single detail of the surgery and the risks. It was alarming in a sence because he does not sugar coat anything. He tells it all like it is so you know exactly what you are dealing with and what to expect.

Very professional, very informative. Provided a complete explanation of what the surgery would entail. His staff was very helpful. I was at his office for 6 hours where the surgery was expained in minute detail. I would recommend him to anyone planning on this surgery in the future. I had it done on June 22nd, and feel better every day. My friends say that they can see the weight loss in my face. The only negative thing was waiting over an hour for my two week follow up, but as that was his surgery follow up at the hospital, I can understand the delay.
