When Dr. Stewart walked through the lobby at his office I didn';t know it was him but I had a gut feeling and siad to myself, "I hope he is the surgeon." Sure enough he was. I had met another surgeon and I really felt deep inside that Dr. Stewart was the one. Now I am five days post-op and I still feel that way. He is not much of a talker but he seems generally concerned about his patients and is very informative and thurough.
Dr. Stewart is a very knowlegable man and a superior surgeon. I had no worries about that. He is very quiet however and hard to read. His staff on the other hand is very vocal and friendly and will help you in any way they can.
The dietican on board is very sweet and seems to have good handle on not only the future health requirements but the posssible needs along the way.
Dr. Stewart belives in life long after care with yearly checkups after your first year.
Dr. Daryl Stewart was just wonderful! He is very knowledgeable, explained the RNY procedure very thoroughly, as well as all the pros and cons. He is very good to answer any and all questions you may have. His staff is EXCELLENT! Everyone in his office has been so helpful, caring and kind. They make you feel like family! I would definitely recommend Dr. Stewart to anyone looking for a surgeon!
Dr. Stewart is very informative, he is very concerned for every one of his patients to have every question answered. I knew all the benefits and risks before the surgery. HIs staff is outstanding, they help you every step of the way, they will answer any question no matter how insignificant you think it is. Dr. Stewart takes excellent care of his patients and makes sure each day after surgery that you understand what is happening and makes sure you are ready to go home. His dietician comes by to make sure you are prepared for home eating and the gradual transition back to foods. They really stress aftercare. The nutrition classes are excellent. I would reccommend Dr. Stewart to anyone who is serious about a lifestyle change.
My First impression of Dr. Stewart was that he seemed very quiet and professional but down to earth. He also seemed and still is very passionate about this WL Tool that he can help us with. His office staff is truly wonderful, always upbeat and excited about each visit or conversation that you have with them. Always helpful too.
Aftercare is a hugh part of Dr. Stewarts planning. He sponsors a Support group that you can attend any time during your WL planning, both before and after WL. He strongly recommends joining in the Support Group. We have almost 25-30 people in different stages of WL Journey that attend faithfully each month. Dr. Stewart almost trys to talk you out of this surgery when he tells you about the risks involved and other problems that can come up. I have all the faith in the world that he would not proceed if there was any reason for an individual NOT to have this surgery. I feel that Dr. Stewart is very competent and has a wonderful bedside manner also.
I liked Dr. Stewart immediately. The seminar was very organized, thorough and professionally done. Most of the questions I had, I brought up during the seminar and he answered all of them. I didn't have any left by the time I met with him individually.
I didn't meet his entire office staff, only Leah - his Bariatric Coordinator. She's very likeable and extremely on the ball. She gets things done!
I can't really say anthing about the Aftercare program yet, I've only attended the initial seminar. I'm sure that will come later.
The risks of surgery were discussed in great length during the seminar. I don't think this was done to scare anybody away - but to make sure everyone understood what's all involved and what could possibly happen as a result.
UPDATE: Met Dr. Stewart tonight. I had no reservations about him. I'm 100% set on getting surgery and have spent everyday researching, so I had little to ask him. He has a good track record so far, and I liked his follow up care program. Which he said is growing. He also has a nutrionist, which my previous Dr. did not.
I thought he was a kind man. He is very honest and does not rush you. He made me feel comfortable to ask questions and he has a nice personality. I am very impressed.
The office staff is wonderful, they serve you and that is nice. The office is very clean.
He emphasized aftercare alot in the initial consult. His $1,000.00 program fee pays for the initial consult, paperwork, 3 nutritional classes, books, support groups etc.
Dr. Stewart went over all risks with honesty. I would rate him a 10 after today!
My first impression of Dr.Stewart was that this was a man that knew his stuff. He is obviously well-skilled in his field. He is soft spoken, but does not have a problem with explaining everything to you in great detail. His office staff is amazing. They are all super nice and really want you to acheive your goals. He has a great aftercare program, complete with a nutritionist on staff who is very nice and so helpful with all of our food questions. Dr.Stewart has left no stone unturned as far as explaining the surgery step-by-step and going over every risk. I have never had more faith or more confidence in a DR than with Dr.Stewart. While in the hospital, he would explain what should be happening each day as far as my walking endurance, what I could expect to eat (or not eat which is really the case) :)
and pain management. I will recommend Dr.Stewart to any and everyone, without hesitation!!!! I'm so thankful that I found him. He has given me a new lease on life!!!!
