First impression of Dr. Henderson was a reassuring experience. He has a manner in which he is very straight forward, yet relaxed and laid back. Dr. Henderson is a confident person and is always smiling.
I will update this again after my surgery.
12-17-03 Well I am home today and can add to this page. Dr Henderson and his P.A. Sandra are outstanding in their work and efforts. They make sure to repeat every question to make sure you truly understand what is being asked. I have been in the hospital before and can tell you I was lucky to see my doctor once a day. I saw Dr. Henderson 3-4 times per day and was very comforted by this as well.
The dietician Lauren was also great and a sure source of valuable information. She is head strong and very easy to understand. To everyone who has not done a lot of research on WLS (at least 6 months) she is someone that can fill in the blanks for you.
I go to met Dr.Henderson on Thrusday Nov.20 for my first consultion &then have my surgery on Dec.2,2003 .I so happy when his office call me today that I approved it only took 2weeks get approved from my ins. co.I love his staff they so nice to me &very freindly& help me with my question.Dr.Henderson was great& wonderful to met.
i met dr henderson last september, i was scheduled to have surgery on sep 24 but found out 2 weeks before that i was pregnant. i am meeting with him again on oct 2 cant wait.he was a very informative person when i met him in september. i felt comfortable with everything he explained to me. my mother had same surgery in the1970s, my sister just had it aug 26. my turn next.
I have just received the information from him, and since I live in NC I will wait for my first appointment.
6/3 I met with Dr. Henderson two weeks ago and he was wonderful. Answered all of my questions and concerns and thinks I will do really well. The office staff was wonderful and are very caring and concerned about their patients. He puts a big emphasis on aftercare and taking vitamins. Said if I did four things, I'd have great success...eat three meals a day, drink lots of water, exercise and take vitamins. I would rate him as very knowledgable and excellent choice for this procedure. I was approved by my insurance company yesterday and have surgery scheduled for Tuesday, June 10...I can't wait I'm so excited.
I have not met Dr. Henderson yet but his office staff is wonderful. cheryl and Regina are both very helpful.

I talked with Regina on thursday and found out my approval letter was back....unless someone cancels I am scheduled for surgery on June 23 2003....I am so excited...I will keep you posted
Very busy office, but positive visit overall. Front office staff are OK under the circumstances, but seemed a bit overwhelmed. It doesn't heard to be a little assertive and make sure you've got your questions ready. Cheryl, who handles insurance filings and paperwork, is an lovely woman--truly professional and courteous. Dr. Henderson and the office PA Ms. Setzer are both friendly, warm and knowledgable. I haven't met Dr. Kent, but I've heard nothing but good info about him as well. It's a nerve-wracking system they employ there--first, you call to get a packet of info & application; you fill it out and send it back; they call you within a week or two to review packet, submit for insurance approval; once approval obtained, consult date is set, and usually set within a couple of days or one week of the surgery. This means that I'd been planning for a surgery date of 4/28, but didn't actually meet anyone in person until 4/17...so that was the hardest part. Pre-op testing required includes: chest X-rays, bloodwork, gallbladder sonogram, psych eval and dietary consult. The dietician at the hospital is great, too!
WONDERFUL,EXCELLENT.A GREAT MAN.I FELT VERY
COMFORTABLE WITH HIM.
IMPRESSION HASNT CHANGED.
OFFICE STAFF IS SUPER WONDERFUL. ESPECIALLY CHERYL.SHE HAS BUSTED HER BUTT TO HELP ME GET ALL THE INSURANCE PAPERS IN ORDER.I LIKED EVERYTHING ABOUT DR HENDERSON AND HIS STAFF.LISTEN TO HIM,HE IS A VERY STRAIGHT FORWARD MAN.VERY SERIOUS ABOUT AFTERCARE,AND SUPPORT GROUPS.HE EXPLAINED THE RISKS OF SURGERY VERY PLAIN,AND BLUNT.THERE WILL BE NO CONFUSION OVER THE RISK.HE MAKES IT CLEAR ON ALL COUNTS.ID RATE HIM A 1000% GREAT
