Peter Henderson Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

Went into Dr. Henderson's office to request a packet on the RNY. Read over the material. I found it to be very informative. The staff was very friendy. (although I didn't see the first overweight woman working in his office....mmmmmmmm)Was giving an appointment after I turned in the packet. Had first consolation on Sept. 25,2002. I liked Dr.Henderson right away. He gave my husband and I the pros and cons of this surgery. The only down fall I felt here was that I thought there should be more time spent on explaining how the procedure is done. Dr. Henderson went over the test in his packet with me on the questions he felt I needed info on. Over all good I felt good about choosing Dr. Henderson

Dr. Henderson was really great....had surgery on 9-23...left hospital 9-25..waiting on 1st appointment....had no trouble...really lucky....the office staff was wonderful..still working on the appeal letter...waiting to see if insurance is going to pay me back....but if not ...no regrets..I know this was my final straw...Dr Henderson does not talk a lot, but he will answer any questions and for some reason,,,I really trusted him...everything went great so overall, I think his staff is great and I would recommend him to anyone..

I really liked Dr. Henderson from the get go. He is the type of man that looks at you when he is talking and that was one of the first thing that impressed me. I have only met the staff once, but they were all very sweet and caring. Great atmosphere in his office. He is very informative and I loved his package he has a part that takes you from a few days before surgery to days after your surgery, that I liked alot and have read time and time again. He explains all the risks , but make you feel secure with your decision.

I HAVE BEEN VERY IMPRESSED WITH DR. HENDERSON. HE ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS AND I FELT VERY COMFORTABLE. HIS STAFF HAS BEEN GREAT IN THAT THEY HAVE BEEN THERE MOSTLY ON A WEEKLY BASIS FOR MY PHONE CALLS AND TO HELP ME WITH INSURANCE.

Dr. Henderson was very pleasant. He was really sweet, & kept eye contact through out my visit, which I liked. This way I was more confident that we were on the same level & it reasured me he was'nt just going threw the motions. He has a great sence of humor, that leaves me to belive his bedside manner should be great.
He's very stern about knowing exactly what to expect, & if you answered a question wrong on your test, he is quick to correct you & explain in detail the correct ans. & why it is so. He complemented me on my knowlage of the proceedures (though I did get two wrong on his test)Dr. Henderson is however the kind of person that dose not like to be interupted while speaking. He dose'nt snap at you or anything, he's quite the opposite. He just continues on with out stopping till he's done, which is a good thing.
Staff was great! They were not happy with the Doc that day & I smelt mutany among the ranks as I left. (I sure hope he got home safely that night) HAHAHA! Overall I'd give everyone there 4 thumbs up!

I have been a surgical nurse for 6 years. During this time I have been providing care for Dr. Peter Henderson and his partner's patients. This group of surgeons specialize in general surgery with an emphasis on laproscopic and vascular procedures. It has always been wonderful to work with this group. They treat the nurses with respect, listening to us and asking our input. Due to this I felt very comfortable selecting Dr. Peter Henderson to perform my surgery. He always takes time for me if he is on the ward checking his patients.

I have addressed several issues concerning his bariatric patients and he has always listened to my concerns. He is attentive to the needs of his patients. The follow-up visits with him are frequent during the first year. He has a questionaire that every post-op must fill out at each follow-up. This addresses the current diet status, water intake, vitamin supplement intake, and exercise schedule. If he notices an area that is not on schedule he will definately address it with you.

Not only is Dr. Peter Henderson probably one of the most competent surgeons in our area, his office staff is very personable. I have stopped by the office in between follow-up visits to weigh and they are always receptive to me coming in. They are excited for me and are constantly encouraging me. That is also true for the 2 other partners in the office as well as their PA. Whenever I see any of them on the ward they are asking me questions about how I feel and how much weight have I lost. I am truly grateful and satisfied with my surgery as a whole.

My first impression of him was that he was a kind and knowledgable doctor. He answered all of my questions. He was honest in letting me know that he was in the beginning stages of this surgery being a part of his normal surgery practice. He also address the risks as well as the benefits. The least thing that I did not like was, there was not a structured aftercare program but I see that his practice is in the process of forming one. Overall I would rate him excellent. He has good bedside manners and he is an excelent surgeon. His office staff is very helpful, knowledgable and caring.

Dr. Peterson seems to be a very sensitive and understanding physician. Everyone on his staff has been very pleasant to work with. He strongly emphsizes that he will be with you every step of the way, before and after surgery. Overall rating-I am very pleased with him thus far.
