Dr. Davidson's staff told me not to crack jokes or expect him to do the same so when I first saw him I was little nervous. Yes, he was all business but he was very nice and put me at ease right away! rnrnJust getting to know the staff in his office is worth it. They are amazing people! The best part is to meet people on his staff who have gone through what I am about to. It is so comforting.rnrnThe program they offer is amazing. Instead of just going in and talking to the doc we did a seminar that answered all questions I had, which were few since I had done a lot of research for this surgery prior to my appt. They explained everything to me, did a very thorough history and examination. Word to the wise....make sure they take your blood pressure before they weigh you! Oy! Mine shot through the roof when I saw what the scale had to say!!
Doctor Davidson is a great surgeon. Like many here say he is a little bit businesslike but if you want friends go join a club. If you want a great surgeon see Dr. Davidson. Also, his staff is very kind and caring and helpful. They answered all questions and pointed out all the risks and benefits.rn I would recommend him to all.rn These are just my personal feelings and your results may vary.
Dr. Davidson is not a \"touchy-feely\" guy, but is technically a great surgeon. Having been in the medical field myself for nearly 30 years, I appreciate competence over bedside manner from a surgeon. He has been listed as one of the best bariatric surgeons in Dallas for many years. When I went for the informational seminar, they actually treat it as an office vist, and you see the doctor and get evaluated by him. When they are discussing different surgeries with you, they ask you to list the complications of the procedure that you are having done, just to insure you truly understand. His staff is great. Many have had various weight loss surgeries and are very sympathetic and thoughtful with the patients. His aftercare program is 5 years. I have the cell phone number for his NP and she is always available for questions or concerns. The post op diet is quite structured and relatively strict. As a result, at 6 months post op I have very few food related problems.
I don't think you could find a surgeon who is more dedicated to making sure his patients have good outcomes, especially when complications arise. He is careful, cautious and very thorough. His staff are as commited to your success as he is and are efficient and nice. His affiliation with Nova Body Solutions is terrific to help you get your insurance approval and after surgery support and education. Thank God Davidson was my surgeon as his medical knowledge beyond bariatrics came in handy when I had severe complications. He may not be warm and bubbly but I think he's just so busy that he needs to be all business, but that's not to say he's an unfeeling robot. When he smiles it's the most reassuring thing ever.
So far I've been very impressed with Dr. Davidson. When I first met him, we talked about his missionary work. My family goes on yearly mission travels as well. He made sure I am knowledgable about what can happen with the band. These are my own opinions about Dr. Davidson and my own experience. I will have the surgery on November 30, so I will update after that.
I first met Dr D when I had my group presentation by Nova Body Solutions. They explained all risks, procedures offered, etc... Then Dr D came in at the end of the presentation to talk with us. My first impression of Dr D was that he was all business. I do like that as it means he is serious about what he does. He is one of the top bariatric doctors in the DFW area so I feel confident that I'm in good hands. He has also been doing this for many years and hasn't lost a patient. rnWell, he got me thru the surgery and his outside handi-work looks fine. I had no leaks after having my upper GI. He likes to ask you numerous times why should we not have real food for the 1st two weeks. Just tell him we don't want to bust out our pouch-he's satisfied.
