This is my second review. The first one was two months after surgery, Aug 2010. I'll be three years post op on June 11th. I am happy as a clam. We moved back to Texas, which is our home. We're currently in Dallas, so I am close to several support groups. I attend between two and four a month! I love them. I love my sleeve, I'm maintaining without a problem. I still highly recommend Dr. Davidson, he did a great job. If given the chance to do it all again, I'd choose him.

Love Dr. Davidson and his entire staff....they're all wonderful!! Surgery was June 11, 2010!! I had the easiest time. Basically no pain. I was never sick and have not had any hunger since surgery. I eat because I know I need to and because it tastes good. I eat so little it's almost laughable! I've never thrown up and I haven't found anything that I cannot eat. My migraines stopped after surgery. For ten years I have had three - four per week and I went 3.5 weeks without one at all. They started back, I had one daily for almost a week, then they stopped again. (I flew home to WI from TX so that may have something to do with it) I'm keeping a food log and hopefully I'll be able to pin point all or most triggers. I love my sleeve....I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
Dr. Davidson is a no nonsense kind of guy. He lays out the options and doesn't sugarcoat. I like that. He spent as much time as I needed to throughly explain the surgery and the recovery expectations. My surgery went off without a hitch and my recovery was rapid and without complication. I will admit that the first couple of days were rough, but no rougher then Dr. Davidson described. I was feeling pretty good after one week. I'm now 12 weeks out and I've never felt better. I wish I'd done this years ago. I traveled from out of town for the surgery and the Doctor's office was fully accomidating to my time constraints. I would highly recommend Dr. Davidson.
UPDATE: Six months post-surgery, down 70 lbs, 11 lbs to goal. YEAH!!
UPDATE: Ten months post-surgery, down 80 lbs, 1 lb to goal. That last pound is hanging on for dear life.
UPDATE: January 23, 2013. GOAL! GOAL! GOAL! 81.5 lbs down. Now it's time to shop for that Speedo!

Dr.Davidson is short and to the point and very nice.
I love that he and his entire staff know you and care about you. They are very involved with you from start to finish and will hold you accountable for your surgery.
I had to drive a long way for my classes and surgery witch is my least fav part, but the instruction and attention I get is worth it.
I was made aware of all aspects of complications. I was very aware of them and still am.
Before, during and after surgery I have been well taken care of. I can call at any time with my concerns or my triumphs.
Over all I highly recommend Dr. Davidson and his staff. They are wonderful.

Dr Davidson was great throughout the whole process. He has a very dry sense of humor, but really knows his way around a stomach and is very blunt. This is part of what I liked about him. There is no beating around the bush with him. He has an amazing support staff and aftercare groups. I would highly recommend him to anyone thinking of WLS.

Dr. Davidson can come across as a little gruff upon first meeting him. He was a military surgeon for a very long time, and it shows in his mannerism and bearing. However, I have rarely met a doctor who I feel is more genuinely concerned for his patients and is adamant and unflinching in wanting the very best for them. He is an outstanding surgeon and my sleeve was completed with no undue complications. I have only the highest praise for Dr. Davidson and the Forest Park Medical Center staff in Dallas, who treated me exceptionally well during my 3 day stay with them.
Dr. Davidson has a full aftercare program and a very lengthy and informative pre-op session, even if your insurance company doesn't require the extensive pre-qualification that mine did. You will definitely know what you're getting into, and what you must do to succeed before he will operate on you.
Dr. Davidson is one of the most well respected surgeons in the DFW area for a reason...his bedside manner may not be the warmest ever, but he is an outstanding physician.

My 1st impression of Dr.D was "he was all business"; he had great experience and confidence; he was "a no-nonsense kind-of-guy" who explained things to you carefully, gave specific instructions and expects you to follow them". As time passed I also learned that Dr.D is a Christian who uses his great skills to help you - and, at the same time, he evokes a higher power to guide him as he cares for you. I'll never forget being so scared in those last moments before the "lights went out" in the pre-op area - Dr.D prayed for me, and for his guidance. I was not scared anymore and had great peace with what he was about to do.
Dr.D's office/staff/team are simply excellent. This Dr and team have done 1000's of Bariatric surgeries and cared-for/guided 1000's of patients. Their experience translates into great confidence and an efficient operation. They truly take a personal interest in you - as long as you show them that you are serious and will try to follow their instructions in both their before and after-care programs. Their care-programs are structured and they provide excellent supporting materials and tools. You provide the effort.
I am asked to provide "constructive criticism" and any negatives in my review of Dr.D/team/staff. I have none and I am an acerbic "tough-grader". If having nothing negative to say makes my review somehow tainted - then so be it. It is your loss if you do not research/consider this Dr/team.
Lastly, it is an 16-hour round-trip drive for me to use Dr.D/team. I am a self-pay patient and could have chosen any Dr./facility in the U.S. As such, I did extensive research of Surgeons/care-programs/hospitals and simply concluded that having my life and care entrusted to this Dr and team was worth the extra expense, time and effort of driving 16-hrs round-trip to/from each visit, surgery and all future after-care program visits. That about says it all.
Suffice to say - I am a satisfied - and grateful - customer/patient.

Dr. Davidson is a great surgeon. He is straight to the point and doesn't blow smoke up your skirt! If you're not doing what you're supposed to be doing, he will let you know immediately! Though I have personally had no issues with him, my parents said his bedside manner while I was in the hospital wasn't so great. However, he was super to me! I find him to be fantastic!
His office and staff are incredible. They are professional, personable, friendly, and incredibly helpful. They have a very structured after-care program, but it is very informative and helpful. Overall, I was assisted beyond my wildest expectations and continue to be pleased with the excellent customer service.
Dr. Davidson and his staff are the best. Dr Davidson is a no nonsense kind of guy and a wonderful surgeon. I felt comfortable with him from the start. He truly possesses a God given talent and skill.
His staff is wonderful as well. They are all friendly and accomodating. No question is too small. If they don't know the answers, they will find the person who does.
I am 1 week post-op today. I have lost 7 lbs already and have needed no insulin for the last 3 days. My life has already changed for the positive. I would encourage any Type II diabetic to consider having this surgery and, if you can, use Dr. D.
