I thought Dr. Davidson was great. My 1st visit with him was short, but we covered everything. My impression of him is that he is a great surgeon and is a caring man. Some people say he is very "to the point" no warm fuzzies. I disagree. I feel I had the best doctor possible for procedure. His staff is great. I feel like each one of them have an interest in my success. Sometimes when I meet with his nurse practitioner I feel like she is a little rushed. His staff emphasizes the after care more than Dr. Davidson. The Advanced Bariatric Center of Dallas has a whole program outlined with information on several support groups in the area. Dr. Davidson mnetioned the risks and went into more setail on anytihng I had questions about. There was also details of the risks provided on the documents I signed. I would rate Dr. Davidson as excellent. There were some complications with my surgery and when I went for my 1st post op appointment he made it a point to ask how I was. I didn't even meet with him that day, instead I saw the nurse practitioner. I think surgical competence is better, but a little bedside manner can go a long way.

1st impression: Good, asked what I came to see him for. Listen and let me know my options.

Staff: The best

Aftercare program: So far, great

Bedside manner: I was in the hospital for over a week. He came to see me everyday. Sometimes twice, even one day he came that morning at lunch and again that evening.

My first impression of Dr. Davidson is that he is very straight to the point. He does not sugar coat anything and will educate you on your ignorance. His staff is also brilliant to work with at this emotional time of life. There is a 24 hour phone number the staff gives you in case you hae ANY questions, anxieties, etc. rnThis is unheard of... but true!!! I have interviewed several doctors and never had the open arms this whole office offers. Did I mention he is also the least expensive out of the Doctor's I have interviewed. I highly recommend this staff of professionals.

Dr. Davidson had perfect credentials and spent a good deal of time doing my pre-op exam. He quizzed me on the benefits and risks of VSG that you have to pass in order to qualify. He seemed genuinely concerned and about me and reported to my family in the waiting room immediately. His bedside manner is not the best but I have seen far worse, and I prefer great surical skills. If I need to be patted on the head I will get my family to do that. His nurse practioner, Sany McCoy, is very knowledgeable and caring and also has the VSG. Their aftercare program involves lots of appointments, classes and support group meetings.

My first impression of Dr Davidson was great, he is very no nonsense and to the point, I appreciate that I want him to tell me EVERYTHING I need to know and then lets get to doing it!
Dr. Davidson's office staff is second to NONE. I have been researching and hoping for this surgery for 7+ years now and could NEVER have hoped for a more caring and wonderful group of people. Trevor, Micki, & Linda absolutely ROCK!, they made me feel 100% comfortable and supported.
If you have done your research and feel bariatric surgery is for you, I strongly suggest you give them a visit. My surgery is 9/24/08 and I will update more then as well.
Update its 2/6/09 and I have lost 93 pounds. Surgery went well, I would do it again at this very moment. No more blood pressure pills, no more swollen ankles, and I can walk!!!! Do it, and use Dr. Davidson!

I was nervous to meet Dr Davidson for the first time. Someone in the waiting room said he was not all warm and fuzzy. But after you think about it, do you really want your doctor all warm and fuzzy? I want someone who will help me keep myself accountable and on track to use my new tool wisely. I found Dr Davidson to be extremely knowledgable. He is no nonsense, but very professional. He is just what the doctor ordered!rnThe office staff are all very friendly. They make you feel very welcome. They have taken very good care of me so far and I trust they will continue.rnFrom what I have seen, there is a great aftercare program. I fully plan to take complete advantage of all that is offered.

I met Dr. Davidson about 3 years ago when I was trying to have surgery then. My insurance company would not approve me so I stopped trying to have WLS. Now I have a new job with new insurance and they seem to be able to approve me for WLS. So I went back to Dr. Davidson because I liked him and his office the first time I went there. There are some new people in the office, but I just love them. I am very impressed with Dr. Davidson. I would recommend him to everyone. I am going for the gastric bypass. Just pray this time I can get it done.
