Ernest Rehnke Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

I have had my 1st visit with Dr. Rehnke and met him at a support group meetings, I was very comfortable in his office and love the fact that he sits and talks about your life and surgery, he does not rush even though he has an office full of patients, the office wait does take awhile and I can see why and to me well worth the wait.

My first impression of DR. Rehnke, was that he was very professional and straight to the point. He was very detailing about the surgery. He mad me feel very comfortable. He answered all my questions in a professional manner. He showed very much concerns. I would recommend Dr.Rehnke to anyone. The staff was well organized, they returned calls and appointments in a timely manner.
All I can say is that Dr. Rehnke & staff are very professional and friendly.
They emphasive support group meetings monthly.
I would rate Dr.Rehnke as a 10.

Dr. Rehnke is an excellent surgeon in the operating room. I had absolutely no complications, physically, with my surgery. Unfortunately, his office offers absolutely no after-care plan or follow up. It's basically up to the patient to come back after the staples/g-tube are removed. In the long run I believe the after-care is as important as the cutting itself.

My personal impressions of my experience with Dr. Rehnke were excellent. He has made such a positive change in my life that I cannot say enough good things about him and his staff.

I first met Dr. Rehnke at one of his lectures. And at first I was nervous, but after the initial consultation I was put at ease. He was so easy to talk to, he answered any and all questions and/or concerns I had about the surgery. He told what to expect before, during and after the procedure. He described the risks in detail and told me to get prepared. He was great!

I went to Dr. Rehnke because a friend of mine went to him & was very pleased. I had gone to an orientation of another Dr. in the area and did not like his procedures for the surgery. When I met Dr. Rehnke he was very nice & gave the impression of someone who cared and wanted to help. His office staff were also very nice and helpful in getting all information together that I need to get approval from the insurance co. for the surgery.
His aftercare program begins before surgery with the support care groups. He encourages you to attend the support groups on a regular basis. They are once a month in St. Pete & Dr. Lindsay, who works with him, also has a support group.
Over all, I would rate Dr. Rehnke a 10, out of 10. He is an excellent surgeon & was very nice to me in the hospital.

From the support group meetings and my first meeting (the consultation) I was very pleased with him. He is staight forward and to the point.

He takes the time to answer questions and help with any concerns.

If you are in the Tampabay area...He is the doctor for you! :)

I am waiting for my insurance approval...if there is anything else to tell you about Dr Ernest Rehnke after surgery...I will post!

Attended his June 03 support group and was very impressed by his comments, skill and compassion. The meeting was an incredible experience for me and my loving wife who's 100% in support.

Prior to Dr. Rehnke's meeting I attended another doc's information meeting and came away with good info, but not really impressed. Not the case at Dr. R's...he stayed over his intended time allotment to continue asking questions. It was great.

I am now beginning the process of gathering info, which due to medical neglect on my part will prove difficult. However, I had a full physical with my PCP and told him of my intent of pursuing the surgery, and he was highly pleased and in complete support. When I told him about Dr. R, he just smiled, then excused himself, and returned with a folder of pic/s. Turns out 2 of his patients had used Dr. R, and the results were fantastic....even more interestingly he said they both have maintained the weight loss...he indicated both patients still stayed active in support groups and just gushed over their experience and the wonderful qualities of Dr R and his team..

He said I made a great choice....So the process has begun in earnest, and all I can do is pray that I am successful in obtaining approval, and that I stay healthy long enough to allow the date to to materialize

Dr. Ernest Rehnke is a wonderful surgeon. He cares deeply about his patients and has many years of clinical experience, and is highly respected in the medical community. His staff is very attentive and knowledgable.

He is very strict on post-op diet and his rules are what makes it work. Protein, veggies, water, water, water and excercise. IT WORKS.

He holds a support group meeting on the 1st Satuday of each month at Pasadena Community Church, from from 2:30 to 4:30 and it is very helpful. The room is packed. Participation is key to your ongoing success.

I met with Dr. Rehnke and was impressed with him, he is very clinical and matter of factly about everything. He is very nice and his office staff seemed very helpful. Right now I'm waiting to hear from them on my approval from BCBS.

I recently attended Dr. Rehnke's support group and he was there! He answerd about a million newbie questions and I felt very comfortable with his expertise. There were a lot of people there!
