My appointment is for 3-10-03. He was recommended by a co-worker.

Very professional.
Explained in detail the surgery and its risks.
Office staff is exceptional.
Would have liked more time for a few more questions.

My new PCP would not let me go to a out of
network surgeon, so I have changed to Dr Rehnke.

6-5-03
Had my appointment with Dr Rehnke. He answered all of my questions and explained the procedure and its risk. Thanks to this site, I was prepared. Now awaiting approval from Cigna.

I couldn't be happier that I choose Dr. Rehnke as my surgeon.

From his first support group meeting I felt completely at ease with him. I've had the opportunity to speak with him several times after meetings and he is genuinely concerned about our healths and getting us the tool that we need to live.

He is very intelligent and well-spoken.

I did have my first appointment with him 2 weeks ago and was impressed even more.

His staff is wonderful. No matter how many times I called to check on my status, they were always polite and helpful.

I would recommend Dr. Rehnke and his staff to everyone!

He is a very nice person and I believe he feels for his patients. His office staff is great they are very nice and things go done at his office. There is nothing I like least about him but maybe about me I am too quiet.

He is an excellent chose for a surgeon. His aftercare is perfect there is support groups all the time and there is a website for questions and chatting.

Dr. Rehnke Overall rating would be 10 out of 10. His bedside manner is great but so is his sugical competence.

I would definintely recommend him to anyone needing this surgery. They (his office and him) are very thorough.

I had my first visit with Dr. Rehnke in Jan 2002. It took me 6 mths to get the appt. but I know the wait will be well worth it. His staff is always pleasant anytime I call & I've called quite a few times since it is now march 2003.I was denied the 1st try & they Have been very helpful. My impression of the Dr is a good one. He is very professional but has a good sense of humor as I told him he sure was slim & he said he stays that way so he won't have to have this surgery.I'm sure I'll learn more about him soon as my appeal letter has gone to insur
ance & SOON I WILL HAVE SURGERY.
WELL, IT HAS BEEN 33 DAYS SINCE SURGERY. I HAVE BEEN BACK TO DOC 1 TIME HE SEEMS ALMOST ALL BUSINESS BUT STILL HAS A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR----SO FAR NOTHING NEGATIVE TO REPORT!!!!

I am not sure where to start. I was very pleased with Dr. Rehnke's office from the start. When I called I did not get a recording or an automated system. Someone answered the phone right away. This was very important to me. I work in the medical field and I wanted to make sure that if Dr. Rehnke was going to be my surgeon he would be someone I could get a hold of. From there they explained the steps that I needed to take and even though I am sure I called WAY too much they were always patient and answered all my questions. I followed the steps and soon got to the point of submitting to insurance. I was denied. I thought my world would crumble. I had been working on things for almost a year. I spoke with Dr. Rehnke's nurse and she explained that he would drop his price for me if I wanted to pay for the surgery! So now I have my surgery date 4/16/03.......just 3 short weeks away!!! I can't wait. I do not know exactly how the after care program is, but since I have been to many of the meetings for pre and post op patients I have a good idea. I do know that aftercare is a very emphasized part, if not the most emphasized part of Dr. Rehnke's philosophy. I will tell you more after surgery, but I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Rehnke!

Dr. Rehnke is a very caring doctor who wants to help all of his patients. He attends the support meetings so you do get to know him. He was fantastic with my husband and I trust him to be the same with me!

From Day one I thought Dr. Rehnke was a kind man. He genuinely wants to see his patients healthy. His office staff is extremely accomodating, they handle all paperwork efficiently. His time is short in the office, but does not make you feel rushed.

My fist impression was wonderful! He was competent and caring. He had an excellent bedside manner.
I Had my surgery last week February 4th and all I can say is that he is truly wonderful and caring. He came and saw me practically everyday during my hospital stay to make sure everthing was going smoothly. He did an excellent job on my surgery and i feeling great just 1 week later! I am a little soar at the incision sight and Happy to say I have had no complications. I am so glad I picked him as my surgeon and look foward to talking more with him monthly in our group meetings. His staff is excellent and proficient. What I liked least about him is that he has such a long waiting list and takes forever to see him! He really emphasizes aftercare with pcp and therapist if your seeing one and also the group meetings are a must! I think that the aftercare should be more structured and maybe he should offer more then just the group meetings. He seams to be of the mindset that your pcp should be your aftercare DR. and that all health concerns should be addressed to my pcp. He addresses the risks of the surgery when you visit him for your first consult and he addresses the risks every month at the group meetings wich he requires you to attend atleast 2 before your surgery. Overall I rate him as a 9 on a scale of 1-10.

My Father had gastric bypass performed by Dr. Rehnke. The only complication ws in his knees; they swelled up like balloons because he had to quit taking his arthritic meds for the surgery. He has lost 250lbs and now weighs 220. He is very happy. Dr. Rehnke also has a fine reputation as a general surgeon, he's not exclusive to gastric bypass surgery. I work in a local hospital and asked around. The only negative came from one nurse who said he had a reputatoin of not being overly kind to nurses, but I only heard this from one nurse. The only other negative coulsd be that he is extremely busy and has a large practice. However, I feel really good about him as my surgeon.
