Ernest Rehnke Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

When I first met Dr.Rehnke I liked him right away. His concern for his patients was real, something I had not found in any of the other doctors I had talked to. He made sure I understood he was giving me a tool to work with, not a miracle. He explained all the risks and things he expected of me. His staff was there for me, with an instant answer to all my questions, and made me feel like I was special, not just a number. His care after surgery was great, making sure I was doing all the right things. He is a wonderful doctor, I would recommend him to everyone. I believe surgical competence is the most important, however I was blessed to have both surgical competence and bedside manner with my special doctor. Thank you Dr.Rehnke for giving me my life back.

I was impressed with Dr. Rehnke from the first time I met him at the seminar. He is a fabulous surgeon and treats you kind and respectful. I think he is the best of the best and there couldn't be better.

Dr Rehenke has the best bed side manner. seems to really care about his patients and answers any and all questions until u feel comfortable. The surgery was a breeze and i deffinately feel that i picked the right surgeon for the job...rnThe office staff are very friendly and always has a smile on there face... rnthe least thing i liked about this, is that after i was allowed food, i wasn;t quite sure what veggies i was allowed to eat. i think a list should be made to pass out to post op patients...rnI rate this experience an A++++++++++++rnPatients need surgical competence and great bedside manner . both are very much important to me...

I loved my surgeon, he is a phenominal man. I had my surgery in Jul...2000. I have most recently gained 50 lbs., but I was 178 at my smallest. I truly lost all my weight in 2 years...from 408lbs. I want to do it again.

Dr. Rehnke seems to be a personable surgeon willing to answer all questions. His staff is pleasant and easy to get along with. He does have a structured aftercare program and emphasizes the need to take advantage of this program for true success. As for the risks of surgery, he dealt with the topic in a matter of fact manner. All surgeries involve risk.rnPersonally, surgical competence is an absolute and a comforting bedside manner is a must.

very knowledgeable about the problems that obese people have with diets, surgery and support after surgery. The support group that he has for the patients is extensive and has Dr. Baum as councilor/psychologist who is also great! I would rate Dr Rehnke as excellent! Good bed side manner and surgical competence.

The first time Melissa and I met with Dr. Rehnke I saw a man who was well dressed, very well spoken, a great sense of humor, and a good listener. We spoke to Dr. Rehnke for a long time and had a lot of questions, he took the time to answer every one of them directly wither the answer was good or hard to hear. He was totally honest, never sugarcoating anything. We left his office feeling confident that this was the man we had heard so much about. As the time got closer to Melissa’s surgery he kept asking us “do you have any questions”, “are you sure”. The day before her surgery he came in, sat down on the examining table looked directly at us and in a mild comfortable tone said “you are ready” and again asked about questions. I remember waiting in the surgical waiting room to hear his voice after the surgery. When he called, he was his calm self, he told me “she was great and everything went perfect”, I cannot lie I cried like a baby. Dr. Rehnke and his staff are the most fantastic group of medical professionals I have ever met. Everyone in his office has a positive attitude just like him. I remember the Sunday after the surgery we thought we had a problem and I called his office number; his answering service said he would get right back to us. Within 5 minutes he was on the phone again very calm and patient quelling our fear. I know that no one is perfect, but you would have to go pretty far in my eyes to find anything that is not perfect about Dr.Ernest C. Rehnke. We will be indebted to him and his staff forever.

Dr. Rehnke is wonderful! His office staff has become very friendly now that I am in the aftercare program. They were not as personable with me while I was in the qualification process. But to be fair I am sure they have many many people who are all trying to get the surgery, and maybe they just didn't remember me from one call/visit to the next. I went to about 4 or 5 different WLS seminars before I went to Dr. Rehnke's. No question, immediately he put me at ease with his calm, caring manner. I knew right away he was the surgeon for me. His aftercare program is great. He does his fills himself, and always asks what I am eating, how much, how I feel. He also gives me such praise for losing every lb and following the rules! I have to say I am very very comfortable going to him, even though it is nearly a 2 hour ride each way. He and his staff are MORE than worth it! Thanks Dr Rehnke for giving me the chance to begin my life again at 44!
