My first impression of Dr. Facundas was that he is very nice. He took the time with me and answered all my questions and did not seem annoyed at all that I had so many.
Dr. Facundas office staff is ok. His nurse Melinda seemed very nice. His staff was a little slow in getting all of my paperwork to insurance, but their was someone out sick for a couple of weeks. It is hard to be patient when you are excited about your surgery. Dr. Facundas is very structured for before your surgery and he seems to be after as well. He works with Bariatric Wellness Institute for all the before and after counseling for nutrition and overall for the surgery. I would recommend Dr. F. to anyone. he seems to be the best for me!!!

I haven't met Dr Facundus yet. I will on October 13, 2003. I look forward to it since I hear great things about him.

I am confidant in his abilities. I'll go through these questions on here and try to answer the best I can. First impression, confident it didn't change. The staff were great and I was comfortable with them right away. I liked least about him was his brisk manner, but he knows is stuff. Future patients know he if very confident in himself and knows this surgery like he knows the back of his hand. I rate him over all, pre-op, a 8.

Dr Facundus performed surgery on 8-6-03, everything went smoothly. I was up walking that night and home by noon the next day. He is amazing. He takes such personal care as well as his staff. I know that God lead me to him and watched over me through the whole procedure.

His staff was wonderful. Very happy and up beat, kinda put me at ease. Then Dr. Facundus came in and introduced himself and proceeded to describe the procedure step by step. He asked several times if I had any questions and when I asked a question he answered it with great detail. I am looking forward to getting my insurance approved and on my way to better health.

Dr. Facundus was simply remarkable. God has given him a gift of incredible skill and he uses it to change lives. He is very very nice (besides being very good-looking!), and seems very relaxed and ready to answer any questions. He performs laproscopic surgery, with most of his patients staying less than 24 hours in the hospital. He checks for leaks both during and after the surgery, and somehow does all this with no drainage tubes. His staff was helpful - although they seem over worked and frustrated each time I've been in. He emphasizes after-care through the Bariatics Institute (I think he must contract with them for services). After surgery, he "requires" you to attend support group meetings as well as meetings with the bariatrics coordinator and nutritionist. I would highly recommend him.

What can I say about Dr. Facundus except that I love him!!! I researched his schooling and training before I scheduled my first appointment, and I am really glad I followed my feelings. He did his original (not LRNY) surgical residency at Oschner Hospital in New Orleans. Being from Louisiana, I know that Oschner is among the best hospitals in the nation, and that made me trust him before I met him. He is very charming and friendly, but also very professional. He made a point of telling me several times that this would be major surgery. His aftercare program includes follow-up visits with him, his bariatric coordinator, and the nutritionist. My only concern with these visits are that I don't think they will be covered by insurance.
His office staff was very nice and efficient. I never felt that I had to wait very long either in the waiting room or the examining room. Everything moved very smoothly. I would rate both Dr. Facundus and his entire staff a 10.

VERY PROFESSIONAL. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST. I COULDN'T HAVE PICKED A BETTER SURGEON. THANK GOD FOR DR. FACUNDUS. AS A RN MYSELF, I RESEARCHED VERY HARD TO FIND A SURGEON WITH VERY LITTLE COMPLICATIONS. HE WAS VERY CAREFUL TO EXPLAIN THINGS TO ME AND MY FAMILY AND HE HAS AN AFTERCARE PROGRAM THAT IS STRUCTURED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF PATIENTS WHO ARE AT RISK OF OBESITY LIKE MYSELF. I FEEL THAT HE IS THE BEST SURGEON. VERY COMPETENT AND HAS A GREAT BEDSIDE MANNER. IT ONLY TOOK ABOUT 50 MINUTES FOR MY SURGERY.
