My first impression of Dr. Facundus was he is everything I had heard from other patients and physicians that know him. He is very thorough and explained in detail the risks and possible benefits of WLS. He is adamant about pre-op care as well as a long term post op program. My impressions only got better he took his time, didn't rush and answered the million questions I had listed out for him. His staff is very nice and I appreciate the help especially from Malinda, and Susan. The appointments with BWI were also very helpful and thanks to Kristi and Hunter for getting me in on the same day since I live so far away. My experience has been great thus far. My closest friend had her surgery with Dr. F last year and she just raved and now I know why not to mention she looks great. I hope I can be in her shoes next year. He was also highly recommended by my PCP who has known him for many years. His aftercare program is very structered and he is insistant about the importance even if you live as far as I do they can accommodate me. Overall I would rate him a 12 on a scale of 1 to 10. Surgical competence and his record of success is what brought me 380 miles.

My first impression of Dr. Facundus was very good.

My impression only got better.

His office staff is nice but very slow, overworked, and understaffed. It took five months for me to get a surgery date and I did not have to pre-register through my insurance. It is very hard to get in contact with his nurse.

The thing I like least about Dr. Facundus is the fact that he lets the Bariatric Wellness Institute call a lot of the shots upfront and the fact that he won't keep you 24 hours for insurances that will pay 100%.

I think you should know that although you may not see much of Dr. Facundus prior to surgery that he is there every step of the way. His was the first face I saw when I woke up in recovery and he spoke to me. He came by that night, the next morning, and was waiting for the results of my leak test. He doesn't take radiology's word for it, he checks the results himself before you are dismissed from the hospital. He is very patient. He sits in a chair in the exam room and answers any and all of your questions. He spends a lot of time with his patients.

Dr. Facundus stongly emphasizes an aftercare program and his program is very structured.

Dr. Facundus and his associate, Dr. Todd, explain the risks of surgery in depth.

Overall, I would definitely rate Dr. Facundus as excellent. Both his bedside manner and surgical competence are great.

I felt that Dr. Facundus was very professional and knowledgeable. My PCP HIGHLY recommended him. I am looking forward to workign with him on my WLS journey. He definitely emphasizes aftercare and requires that everyone complete a nutritional consult prior to surgery.

I was very impressed with Dr. Facundus and his staff. The doctor was very friendly and gave me several opportunities to ask questions. I didn't feel rushed at all. I feel comfortable with the fact that he has performed so many procedures.

Dr. Facundus was/is an answer to my prays. He was/is WONDERFUL!!! He is very patient and will answer ANY and all questions. I recommend him HIGHLY!! His staff is great and very helpful. He makes sure you are aware and very clear about the life changes you will have to make. My surgery went very well. I was in the hospital about 22 hrs. Dr. Facundus' office called the next day to make sure I was ok. They even gave me a gift bag with some water and goodies in it. It also had a small silver spoon to remind me to take small bites. And attached was a card for me to use at resturants so that I can purchase childrens meals. I have had no "dumping" no pain except when I eat to fast(still working on that (smile)). I had my surgery on Nov. 17th 2003. As of 01/21/2004 I have lost 52 lbs!!! Life is getting better and better. I love how I feel with 52 lbs. gone. I can walk faster, I'm more upbeat, more energetic and I just really love getting up every day knowing that finally, I have my life back!!!!

I felt like Dr. Facundus was a very sincere man with a pleasant attititude. He listened, explained the surgery very well.
His staff is some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. Always smiling. My surgery is scheduled for 1-28-04 and I can hardly wait. Dr. FAcundus has done surgery on several of my friends and co-workers and they all feel and look great.

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR. FACUNDUS WAS THAT I THOUGHT HE WAS EASY TO TALK TO AND INFORMED YOU OF EVERYTHING YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE SURGERY BEFORE AND AFTER, WHAT WOULD BE HAPPENING DURING SURGERY AND WHEN I WOULD GO HOME. HE KEPT THAT SAME DEMEANER THE DAY OF SURGERY WHEN MY SURGERY TIME WAS POSTPONED BECAUSE OF AN EMERGENCY, HE CAME IN THE ROOM AND LET ME KNOW HOW LONG IT WOULD BE BEFORE THE SURGERY WOULD BEGIN.
HIS OFFICE STAFF ARE VERY NICE BUT NOT AS INFORMATIVE AS HIM. THEY DID NOT INFORM ME OF THE UP FRONT CHARGES THAT I NEEDED TO PAY ON MY FIRST VISIT WITH THE DR.,I HAD TO USE THEIR ATM BECAUSE THEY STOPPED TAKING PERSONAL CHECKS BUT OTHER THAN THAT THEY WERE ALL VERY NICE.

My first impression of Dr. Facundus was WOW - he's confident and very nice looking. He made me feel very comfortable with the decision that I made. His office staff was GREAT. Brandi gets an extra kudo for being so nice and assisting in getting me an earlier appointment.

My first impression of Dr Facundus was his attitude. He has a very positive attitude. He also struck me as competent. Over time I actually developed more respect for him. He is a very good doctor and a caring person.

Dr. Facundus' staff have all been very nice to me. They try to work with you on your appointments and schedule.

It is hard to think of something not to like about Dr. Facundus and his staff. I guess the thing that is most helpful is his book that he provides to his patients that outlines everything from getting ready for surgery to post op care and diet. But this book is so comprehensive that you lose some of the interaction with the doctor and his staff that you might have for education.

Interested patients should know that the sooner they call and get in the process the sooner they can have their surgery. There are a limited number of doctors in this area who perform this procedure and with interest in gastric bypass growing, the wait for appointments is getting longer. And some might be interested to know that I had mine done lap. I woke up with no stitches, no staples on my skin, no drains, and no NG tube. That may not be the case for all of his patients but it was for me.

Dr. Facundus has his pre-care, surgery care, and after care process very stream lined. At your post op visit he sets up your first aftercare appointments with the coordinator and nutritionist before you leave.

He is very straight forward about the risk of surgery. 1% mortality nationwide. It is also in his booklet.

Overall I would rate him very high. He is very good at what he does. Everyone is amazed at how small the incisions are and how quickly I was able to return to work. I have been back at work for 4 days and I had the surgery 3 weeks ago today.
He has both a great bedside manner and great surgical competence. I couldn't be more pleased so far.

My appt with Dr. Facundus was 11/07/03. He and his staff really seem very efficient and pleasant. After reading profiles of people bringing in pages of questions to ask him, I thought that I'd better come up with some, or he would think I'm not prepared or interested (I guess I've been to too many board meetings). So I thought of 3 goofy little questions that might get me by. Although Dr. Facundus answered them patiently, he's a sharp guy, and knows that by the time we get to him, we're probably up to our eyeballs in gastric bypass information. I know that others come up with very valid questions and concerns. My brain just couldn't come up with any at that time, I'll probably have a ton later.
Also, I kept reading about how good looking he is and really thought I probably wouldn't think so. He is.
He's done over 700 surgeries with one leak after surgery. I'll takes those odds.
So far, it's all been a very pleasant experience.
