My first impression of Dr. Facundus was that he seems to be nice and very knowledgable about the surgery. His office staff are really helpful and very nice. They have assisted me with everything that I have asked of them so far. I feel like they all really care about me as a person not just a patient. I can't wait to have the surgery so that I can give a more indepth description. So far, so good.

8-16-02 Just wanted you all to know that I think that Dr. Facundus is an excellent surgeon. He has a good bedside manner and very competent in the OR. I give him two thumbs up and a 10. LOL.

I really like him and his staff very much. The only thing that I had a problem with was the requirement to meet with his Biriatrics Co-ordinator -$100.00 (although she was extremely nice), the nutritionalist- $60.00 (nice yet again) and finally Dr Facundus- $180.00! None of which was covered or even filable on insurance! I honsestly can't say I learned that much. The nutritionalist did cover my future eating plan very well though. When I saw Dr. Facundus, he said...so, have any questions that haven't been answered? I said no and that was basically it. His nurse handed me my prescriptions for post surgery and I left...after paying him $180.00. That was a total of $340.00. But I have heard that he is an extrememly good surgeon and very thorough and that is the most important thing. Overall at this point I have to rate him and his staff extrememly well. All of my questions were answered, just not by him. Surigal comptence is #1 with bedside manner running a very close 2nd in my book. I do believe he will live up to my standards.

Dr. Facundus is a wonderful doctor. He is warm and caring yet he gets right to the point. On my first consultation with him, I felt that he was deeply concerned for my health. His office staff is great! They are always willing to answer any questions that I have. It is very comforting to have people who care. Dr. Facundus is the greatest thing that has happened to me. I think that he has saved my life. Without the surgery, I was a sure fire target for high blood pressure and diabetes. When talking to me about the risks of the surgery, he was staight forward and to the point. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give him and his staff a 100!!! Dr. facundus is an emmaculate surgeon and has the best bedside manner. I would reccommend him to anyone who is considering WLS.

1)My very 1st impression was of youth. Also was impressed with his thouroughness. I had been told he was a perfectionist(good trait in a surgeon) and i found that to be the case by the time he took in explaining the procedure, and both the general and my specific risks.

2) NA

3) His office staff (with one exception whom I believe is no longer there) has always been both professional and courteous--also very encouraging.

4) Nothing in the personal sense. I am slightly concerned that he hasn't done "enough" of these procedures.(not sure anyone really has!!)

5)That he expects you to work at this to make it a full success.

6&7) He puts great emphasis on it--wanting all patients to meet with Dr Ralph Carson(a nutritionist/behavioral specialist) even before surgery and to follow his instructions afterward. He also encouraged my continued participation in my peer support group( My understanding is that Dr Carson has a support group of his own)

8)Very carefully and thouroughly(see #1) In my case he required consultation and cooperation with my Cardiology team before he will do my surgery

9) at present, a strong 8

10) bedside manner is great so far--have heard good reports about competency but will reserve real judgement til after surgery.
