My fist impression of him was that he was kind and had a great bedside manner. However that soon changed ,first when I was leaving the hospital the next day I told him something did not feel right he said oh it’s all right .Everyday I called complaining and was told from different staff members that either I was not following the diet or that it would pass. I went back to work and I will never forget my boss saying to me that I looked like I was dying go home I was in awful pain and went home the date was April 12 2003 13 days after my surgery (Which was March 30 2003) I went straight to bed I woke up screaming at the top of my lungs at 3 am. By 4 AM, 5 AM my husband and I where on the phone with Dr Facundus, who was still telling me it was nothing and told my husband to go get me a laxative that I need to have a BM which I had told him that I had and that was not it ,he hung up and my husband left to get the laxative before he could get to the store I was calling him to come home and take me to the ER I knew I was dying and sure enough I was. By 6 or 7AM, we knew I had been leaking. Dr Facundus was notified I would guess around the same time. He did not show up till around midnight. Now I was told by hospital staff that why he was not there and I could have nothing for pain was because he was in TN for one of his kids’ baseball games, now I have no idea if this is true. I just know that he did not get to the hospital till midnight. To me he sounded very sure of himself, like he always did and said oh, not a thing to worry about, 4-5 days I would be back at home. It is my understanding that I was his first leak. {Now for those of you looking for a surgeon I would recommend that you find one that has had a leak and some complications before and find out how they turned out. The reason for that is they have had experience in dealing with those situations and know what to look for and do} Needless to say I was not home in 4 to 5 days they were unable to stop the leak and I had every kind of infection you could think of. I was told by a friend that someone on the medical staff said to call the family in. I was in Crestwood hospital for over 10 weeks; I would not recommend the hospital either. When I left I was still leaking and was NPO or nothing by mouth for over 5 months, still had JP drain and central line. The Lincare staff that was very good said that most people do not come home with so much still going on and hooked up. It was a very scary time for me, my husband and children, rest of family and friends. I felt every time I saw him that he did not listen to anything I was saying. Example: I was worried because I was so small, skinny I think 125 pound and ask what would happen if that happened? He said we would cross that bridge when we come to it. He suggested that I have the apron of skin removed and that I would feel better about it all. Needless to say I did what he said used the doctor he recommended and ended up with Steven Johnson Syndrome. Now this was no ones fault it just happen I personally feel that my body was not ready. I did end up getting down to 103 pound looked like death warmed over and felt like Dr Facundus did not care and would not listen to me. I believe that most people know their own body better than anyone. I have had nothing but problems ever since. People always ask are you having fun since you lost all that weight I say no I’m sick most of the time from left over complications I’ll explain all about those on my page but here I’ll keep it to Dr Facundus. It is my understand since my incident he has changed some of his procedures for example I believe he is no longer using the running stitch which is what is used with me and he does a few more swallow test before you is my understanding there maybe more that I’m not aware of but for me if he has not changed his behavior of where he does not listen to his patients and answer all there questions with real answers I would not recommend him. Now remember this is my opinion. The last time I saw him was when he said we will cross that bridge when we come to it to me that was not an answer and I was sick of what I came to see as an arrogant manner instead of a great beside manner.

Have heard wonderful reviews of him. I know several people who have used him and all loved him. I am on his road map to my surgery, have been screened by his office and now have an appointment personally with him on Sept 4 , and his dietician a few days later. He is very thorough. Will continue later

I've heard mixed reviews on Dr. F.'s bedside manner, but he was just what I expected. He was well informed and straighforward.I didn't expect him to be my bestfriend, just a capable surgeon and I believe he is. 10/06/07 Dr. F was wonderful. He came in and checked on me after surgery, the next day, and even called once I got home! Everything went well and I couldn't be happier! He is the best!Thank you to him and all the women in his office! Stephanie got me approved in one day and scheduled the same day!She is the bomb!

Very impressed with Dr. Facundus so far. I have worked for doctors most of my life so I can appreciate the fact that he is thorough. I am looking forward as soon as I finish jumping through the hoops. Just finished my 6 month WLP.

When I first met him I thought he was a very nice person. I had heard some mixed reviews about him but he was very nice and informative. Explained everything and the different surgeries and I chose Lap RNY. I have been approved just waiting on a date. The office staff has been very helpful as well. Stephanie is awesome! She worked with me and even though it took longer than I thought it would getting my paperwork submitted the approval process took less than a day!!

Ok, well Dr. Facundus is basically a too the point kind of guy. I'm not saying he's rude, but he just let's you know how it is, without all the pussy-footing around. That's something I can appreciate. I didn't spend that much time with him, because he has a lot of patients, but I didn't feel rushed to hurry up and ask my questions. All in all, it was a pleasant experience.

My first impression of Dr. Facundus was very positive. He is very professional and seems to take a personal interest in his patient's success. I have not had the surgery yet, but he is the only surgeon that I would allow to touch me. His record is amazing. I will input more later.rnrn

I absolutely love Dr Facundus and his staff. Since released from the hospital they have stayed in contact with me which has kept my fears down. If I have had any problems (which I only had once) they answered my calls quickly and my questions professionally.rnrnBefore my surgery during all those visits to make sure I was a good canidate, Dr Facundus (and staff) always treated me with respect even when I was upset when I felt things just weren't moving fast enough!rnrnI definately would rate my surgeon A+.
