Surgical Weight Loss Center at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital Bariatric Center
I think Dr. Choi is great. Her office staff is very perfessional. I was concerned that being such a busy office they wouldn't be so efficient and organized but I was wrong. Haven't had any problems or complaints yet!
My first impression was, \"WOW A DOCTOR THAT WANTS TO KNOW MY CONCERNS\" and not treat and talk to you like a child. He is very soft spoken and listens to his patients. His staff is extremely helpful. If you send them an email they respond back to you the same day depending on the time. I was given everything that I needed to have done on the first visit. I completed everything within a 2 week period. I would highly recommend Dr. Turnquest to everyone I know.
Dr. Laura Choi was an amazing surgeon. She was extremely detailed and took her time making sure that I was 100% aware of what the surgery would do, the possible complications and likely recovery experiences. I can't tell you how much it meant to me that when I was finally rolled into the operating room that all the nurses, med students and even the anesthesiologist were women!
Dr. Choi was in the OR while I was being prepped and rubbed my arm and told me everything was going to be ok as I went under the anesthesia. That was the last thing I remember and I know that it made all the difference in my surgery recovery because I was so relaxed.
The staff at Danbury hospital are always there to answer any question you may have, are utter professionals and cheer you on to becoming a healthier you! Many of the people I have spoken with who have had bariatric surgery at Danbury Hospital have had Dr. Zuccala as their surgeon, and I have been told he is wonderful. However, I couldn't recommend anyone more than Dr. Choi - it is her bedside manner along with her technical expertise that set her apart!! Rating 10++ !!!

My first impression of Dr. Reardon was that he really seemed to care about me as an individual, not just another patient. He sat down with my husband and I and explained everything in very easy to understand terms. He also took time to sit and talk to us and answer all of our questions. He has put together a pamphlet that explains everything about the surgery in detail. It also has pictures and diagrams that go through every step of the actual surgical procedure. It also details the diet and has sample menus to give you an idea of how life will be after surgery with food during the different phases of the diet. I was very impressed by this. He also has an excellent reputation at Methodist and specializes in minimally invasive surgery. There is an awesome weight management center he has that includes a wonderful aftercare program. This center includes nutrition, psychological, and has support groups.
my first impression was "OMG.SHE SO YOUNG" as time went by i built a relationship w/ catherine and all the support staff. they were wonderful and very very supportive.
there was a incident i had w/ the pulmology dept. i went to dr chois office histerical crying! the nurses and secrataries, put me in a room and immeditaly called pulmunology to recatify the problem!
any issues i had, no matter how minnor(im kind of a worry wart) they got back to me right away!
after care was Great! a day after i was home ifrom surgery, i found out i had pnemonuea developing. catherine told me to go to my primary dr right away. while i was there my primary called dr. choi and discussed what treatment should be done, all in a matter of 10-15 minutes! WHAT KIND OF SURGEON WOULD TAKE TIME AWAY FROM THE PATIENTS IN THE OFFICE TO DISCUSS A PATIENT IN ANOTHER DR. OFFICE? A GREAT ONE!
she answered all my question about sugery verv very simple. IT'S A MAJOR RISK! AND HOW WILLING AM I TO TAKE IT?
i have never found a more comforting, compitant,& supportive group thenthis one!
