I was surpise when I first met him. I wasn't expecting a african-american docter although I am the same race. I was very impress with him. He made me feel comfortable and not so nervous. I was nervous because I am scared of going under the knife. He explain the risks of surgery. He also told me how many surgeries he performed and how long he been performing this procedure. As for as his staff I wasn't impress at first with his front desk clerk. Now I really enjoy his clerk Zanader, she is really friendly. I guess I wanted alot of information on the first visit. I wanted guarnteed approval and she couldn't give me that. She knew the process could be negative and didn't want to get my hopes high, so therefore,I understand why she acted the way she did. She is really a good person. I appreciate all that she have done for me.

Great Doctor!! And my impression has never changed of Dr. Patrick Reardon. Warning. Take charge of your plan and your health. Dr. Reardon is great with both family and individuals that "walks the walk and talks the talk". Baylor man. Top of the Class. Aftercare is "if you want to eat it and you think you can, do it. Just remember to chew like hell before you swallow and you should be alright". Aftercare is up to you. You can not need a caretaker if you go this man's route. If you want it, get it. Not someone else.

Overall I give Dr. Reardon 100 out of 100.

God Bless!!
Bailey

First impression, a bit annal, and over confident. But not obnoxious...
I never really spent enough time with him to get an idea of what kind of person he really is. His office staff is great, very friendly and helpful. I have seen Dr Reardon one time since surgery at my one month check for a brief moment. No after care information. He definately addressed the risks of the surgery with me, and addressed them again with my husband. He answered all my questions prior to surgery, while in the office. It was impossible to get any information from him any other way than in person.

Though I think Dr Reardon is a very competent surgeon, I would recommend Dr Naaman. He seems to have a better grasp of the obesity surgeries and after care. Dr. Naaman even has a website with message posts from patients and potiental patients that answer every question you could think of and many more that you would never think of!

I think being a competent surgeon comes before anything else, but it really helps to have a good bedside manner, or at least surround yourself with other doctors that do.

These are just my personal impressions of my own personal experience and that I am making no statements about what other people may experience.

I saw Dr. Turnquest today. He is a very nice, soft spoken person. He joked with me a lot and has a great sense of humor that put me very at ease with him. He gets serious when the time is needed. He appeared to be a very qualified surgeon and all the information that I've found on him proves that he is an excellent surgeon as well.

I met Dr. Turnquest on June 10, 2004 and let me tell you he is GREAT!!! He has a way of putting your mind at ease, he answered all my questions and was in no rush which made me feel special :@). Although I only met him this one time EVERYBODY speaks very highly of him, even the people at the hospital says "HE IS THE BEST". I feel safe in his care and now I can say "I'M READY"
I went to Dr. Turnquest on the 1st of July for my follow up post op visit and let me tell you this man is soooo warm, Dr T. always has a smile on his face, the only time I didn't see him with a smile was on the day he did my surgery. ONE WORD TO SUM HIM UP TERRIFIC :@)

My first impression of Dr. T. was that he was very friendly, easy going and informative. He made sure to tell me that the only dumb question was one that I didnt ask.
My impression of him has not changed. He has a great bedside manner and appears to genuinely care about me as his patient.
His office staff are very knowledgeable and if you help them by gathering the needed information, they are right there to do what they have to to get you through the hoops.
The only thing that bothered me was having to gather so much information just to even make an appointment. They want to know you'll have your information in hand and not be wasting an appointment slot. That was frustrating, but also understandable.
He's good at his job. He's patient with his patients. He closes up an incision very well. I have almost imperceptable scars after only 2 1/2wks. He'd do good as a plastic surgeon <grins>.
He emphasizes aftercare and follow up appointment, before and after surgery. He wants to know youre doing well. I've had to call him twice since coming home and he's been very informative and patient with my questions.
He doesnt have a specific structured aftercare program. But with the Houston NW Bariatric Support Group run by Sharla Stroup and his follow up appointments, Im not sure how much more is necessary.
I would rate him a 10 on a scale of 1-10 <ten being best>. He's tops in my book and I'd recommend him to anyone. He has a wonderful bedside manner, and he is more than competent in his job.

I have now had my first consultation with Dr. Turnquest. I was very impressed with him. He reviewed everything about the surgery before, during, and after. He was very thorough in his explanations and seemed to be ery confident. Before my meeting with him I was a little leary of the surgery. Now that I have talked to him, I feel much more confident about this procedure.

I WAS VERY ANXIOUS TO MEET DR.TURNQUEST. My 1st appt was Jan. 20th. I had so many questions. He answered each and every one of them. The office staff was very helpful. They are very busy ladies, but they are really nice.
He addressed all the risk of the surgery.
I would rate Dr. Turnquest a 10!!!!!!!!!
Surgical Competence and Bedside manner are both great.
MY surgery date was 3/31/03.
I feel great and I also think that I look great :-)

Dr. Turnquest was warm, friendly and patient at our first appointment.

I have nothing but good things to say about him before, during and after surgery.

The office staff is pleasant, thorough and very helpful. They get just as excited as I do when I weigh in.

He's thorough, knowledgeable, kind and has a great sense of humor.

Aftercare is critical. He's made that very clear. His aftercare program was outlined on a handout that I had when I left the hospital. The pharmacy messed up my pain medication and gave me pills but his staff quickly corrected the problem for me.

Dr. Turnquest made clear to me the risks of surgery so I knew exactly what to expect. I had also done quite a bit of research on the various weight loss surgeries, which I recommend to anyone about to undertake this life changing procedure.

I have so much faith in Dr. Turnquest, I would rate him A++++. My husband is investigating the surgery as well and will be seeing Dr. Turnquest for his first consult on 5/15/2003.

Dr. Turnquest excels in both bedside manner and surgical competence. I'm 5 months post-op and doing well: down 90 pounds. I've gone from size 24-26 down to 14/16. I almost cried when my new 14/16 shorts slipped on with ease.

My husband had his surgery with Dr. Turnquest on 6/23. He's also doing well with about a 40 pound loss after 4 weeks.
