I met DR. T. at one of his seminars at the hospital. He was the third Dr. I spoke with about this surgery. He was friendly, informative, readily answered questions.Did not express one favorite over another as to selection for surgery. When I first met him till the last encounter I had with him two days ago I would suggest he has gained some pounds this is only way I can criticize him. He has a wonderful personality. An award winning smile. I choose him after considering several others. Not much of a patient person more of the skilled surgeon. Never saw him but one time in the two days at the hospital that was the day he let me go home. I have had two visits at his office since and will not need to return for six months. I prefer this sort of hands off doctoring but would not hesitate to call his office if I need anything. his staff is OK, helpful and kind. If I had it to do over again, I would. I am satisfied.

Dr. Balette performed the Vertical Gastric Sleeve in December 2010 and I couldn't have asked for a better physician. He is a very skilled surgeon. He also repaired a hiatal hernia that was found on the diagnostic endoscopy during the procedure and removed my gallbladder as planned since it was confirmed I had gallstones. He takes all the time you need during your office visits. When you attend the information meeting at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands, he will explain all the procedures and all the statistic needed to weigh the pros and cons of all the different procedures that are right for YOU! Take charge of your health and well-being and check him out. I can't say enough good things about him. I've lost 63 pounds and look forward to losing more and then decide where my happy place is as far as my weight and well-being. VGS is the best tool ever plus the support I receive from Sparkpeople.com, my friends and my surgeon! Thanks!

Amazing! Just Amazing! He has a wonderful bedside manner. Very professional. When I first met Dr. Balette I was like wow, he is really nice and he listens. My impression never changed because I knew I was in good hands I mean I really trusted him with my life. His staff is equally amazing, his nurse Cheryl is a god-sent she helped with every question I had. I would honestly recommend him to everyone. I am glad I had surgery with him,he makes himself available for questions and concerns at all times. The after-care program is definitely easy to understand and easy to stick to. Before, during, and after he explained everything and made sure I knew what I was getting into.I gave him 5 stars because he definitely deserves it. He goes above and beyond for his patients!

Dr Turnquest did my RNY gastric bypass on January 25th, 2011. He is a great doctor, wonderful bedside service, his office staff are all kind and knowledgable. I had a good first impression of him, and I still feel the same way. I would recommend him to any one looking to have any kind of weight loss surgery.

Dr. Turnquest is an excellent physician. From the moment I first consulted with him I felt that he had me & my best interest in mind. He was thorough in explaining the types of procedures available as well as how each would affect me personally. The aftercare has been great...I am almost 2 years post-op and have no regrets!!!

When I first met my surgeon I had a good feeling about her,she seemed to be honest and straight to the point and I like that about people. And every staff that I have had the pleasure to meet at Danbury Hospital were so wonderful, thoughtful, to me they made me feel good I was in a family setting. One thing you should know is having Dr. Laura Choi for a surgeon your in good hands! After my surgery Dr.Choi came to see me and check on me and explain to me how important it will be for me to listen and follow the steps and if there were any problems to never hesitate to contact them at Danbury Hospital and they all explained and made it very clear about all my risks that are involved with this surgery (RNY)She knows what she is doing and her bedside manner is wonderful just like her!!!!

Loved, Loved, Loved Dr. Turnquest!!! He is very down to earth and doesn't cut any slack in explaining the surgery and risks to you. I did my research before selecting a surgeon and out of the surgeons seen on t.v. and others, I still choose Dr. Turnquest. I love his sense of humor and he just seems to put you at ease without trying. He is just one of those doctors who you feel is interested in you as a person and not you as a checkbook.

I will say that I was NOT impressed with his staff, as far as their organizational skills were concerned. They scheduled my ultrasound for a specific day and forgot to send the orders to the hospital, so after I show up at the hospital, I had to reschedule for a week later. Then they scheduled the Upper GI for 8:00 a.m. (telling me to be there at 6 a.m.) and when we showed up at 6, were told we didn't need to be there until 9 because the procedure had been rescheduled to 11. ARGHH!!! We live an hour from the hospital, so both times driving over there unnecessarily were very annoying. Also, the office kept forgetting to fax my FMLA paperwork to my employer so the day before surgery, I had to call and stand at my HR Dept's fax machine to make sure that they sent it!!!!! Of course, maybe they were having a couple of bad days, IDK. The staff was always very nice and professional when I spoke with them, it was just that they didn't seem very organized with my case.
