My first impression of Dr. Snyder: I liked that his name was Michael so I met him with a positive attitude. He was very real with a unique, balanced sense of humor. Not at all what I expected him to look like. I expected an arrogant aire about him that just didn't exist when I met him. His staff on the other hand did have that arrogance about them. As if they were better than me. I haven't yet discovered what I like the least about Dr. Snyder, but I'll let you know if I do. He offers a very structured aftercare program and that is one of the things that keeps me at ease along with the fact that he was extremely clear on the risks and benefits of the surgery. I think surgical competence is most important, however if a surgeon doesn't have an equally wonderful bedside manner, a patient isn't going to feel safe; at least I wouldn't.
I attended various seminars in the Denver area, met other surgeons and did tons of research, but Dr. Snyder was always my first choice whether or not I was approved by my insurance company. I never waivered on my decision. I had (and continue to have) complete faith in his skills, knowledge and compassion. rnrnDr. Snyder's staff is excellent and he was very responsive to my e-mails. His program places special emphasis on aftercare programs and support, which is crucial. rnrnThere is nothing negative I would say about Dr. Snyder at all, but appointments with him and talking to him one-on-one are a little bit like a fly-by -- he moves and talks at a very fast pace! I think this has more to do with his general nature than anything as he likes his patients to be informed and prepared and doesn't want to waste time. I never doubted his dedication to my welfare and safety.
My first impression of Dr. Snyder was very good. He presented himself in a professional, knowledgable manner and seemed to be a very caring and friendly person.
Dr. Michael Snyder is exceptional. He's a gifted surgeon, great speaker, people-person, radiates high-energy, and is caring and detail-oriented. Dr. Pete M, his PA, is fabulous, also. I trust both of these doctor's. K M, the Nurse Practioner, is knowledgable, and teaches nutrition classes in a manner that is comprehensive and progressive. Dr. Snyder might consider hiring one additional person to help with the continued growth of his practice, a strong people-person to help with intakes and case management, or maybe an office manager. This add-to-staff could prove to be beneficial. The emphasis on after-care is very strong and ongoing. Denver Bariatrics has online sessions and a variety of support groups in the Denver/Metro area. The post-op is well-structured, and I've been able to find the resources I need. Dr. Snyder talked about the surgical risks in a straightforward manner. I would rate this surgeon an A+++. Finally, I have to add that this surgeon has both qualities: surgical competence and bedside manner, a great combination.
I have known Doc Snyder for a about 18 Months. He took excellent care of my wife and I trust him completely to do the same for me. His staff...while busy is still knowledgeable and friendly. Big shout out to Dolly! She is Ace! If Doc Snyder was a Pediatrician and would place my kids in his care...so that should anwer your questions as to just how highly I think of him. You are given the tools to make this happen..he gives you the keys to that Ferrari now you gotta drive it and maintain it!
He is my age, doesn't judge, genuinely cares about what is best for you as a person. He insists on tests that most insurance companies don't require just to make sure you and he have the best possible experience, and don't have any surprises. His office staff is great, it's not a big fancy office, which for as long as he has been doing this, and as recognized as he is, I was impressed by that. There are only a few ladies behind the desk, the room is made for the patients, with larger chairs but not so obvious your aware of them. Everybody has been VERY supportive. They have a very in-depth before and after care, including FREE specific nutrition classes for either surgery. You receive a LARGE book full of \"rules for the tool\" helpful advise, how to make sure you are getting enough protien, example diets, how to figure out the actual protien on the back of anything. support groups, all sorts of stuff. This is all free, they provide you with so much, and most of his staff that helps are previous patients and/or other drs, nurses, etc. Overall I would rate him VERY GOOD. The only negative things I would say, is that you can't make an apt to see him until you have attended a seminar. I have also wondered if he is so busy, although he is very personable in person, he really has no idea who you are until he begins talking to you. He is a very ENERGETIC person, with a good sense of humor, but that also means he doesn't come and sit on your bed and chat a while. However, he doesn't make you feel neglecated in any way. I looked at a number of Drs. in this area, and really researched. I would reccommend Dr. Snyder to anybody.
I was impressed with Dr. Snyder from the moment he started talking at the seminar. He is knowledgeable, passionate and truly seems to care about his patients. I have had questions and have e-mailed him. He e-mailed me back the same day with the answer. During my appointment with him, he included my husband in the conversation about the surgery, and addressed the information to both of us, which I appreciated as did he.
It seems to me that he is very passionate about helping people change. The info I have researched shows him to be an excellent surgeon.
Dr. Snyder has one of the best personally you will ever see. I was not scared of this surgery at all because him and his staff keep me updated. He has the best atmisophere ans staff. they are very helpful with everything. When you page dr. snyder he calls you back with in mins. His program has made him the best in the state I will be recommending him to everyone rnrnJessica
