Dr. Michael Snyder, Bariatric Surgeon Michael A. Snyder, MD, FACS, FASMBS is a board-certified surgeon, the founder of the Denver Center for Bariatric Surgery, and the Medical Director of the Bariatric Surgery Center at Rose Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He later completed his residency at the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland; and, this is where his passion for bariatric surgery began. To pursue bariatric surgery, Dr. Snyder’s training has been extensive. He sought out an ASMBS certified preceptorship with Dr. Latham Flanagan, Jr., a world-renowned leader in bariatrics. With a desire to further expand his practice, he pursued additional training in laparoscopic techniques for bariatric surgery with Dr. Jefferson Vaughan, as well as with the internationally recognized leader of laparoscopic bariatric surgery, Dr. Alan Wittgrove. He also participated in additional training at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in Florida. Dr. Snyder teaches around the world about the disease of obesity, bariatric patient management, and bariatric surgery. As a recognized leader in performing gastric sleeve procedures he also trains surgeons for Ethicon. Dr. Snyder is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS). He is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and on the Colorado Board of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
