Northside Hospital of Atlanta Bariatric Center
He makes a very good first impression. I met him at his office the day of pre op testing. We talked the next day before surgery, after surgery & the following day just before I was released from the hospital. I liked him more with each visit. He went over all surgery risks and what we had to do to minimize those risks. He has a structured aftercare program of 3 phases. If you haven't decided on a surgeon yet I highly recommend him. His surgical competence & bedside manner are excellent.
I knew the doctor from m a co-worker who is his niece, he seems to be a very nice peron. His office staff are all nice cordial people. he was very informative about my after care and what is expected of me. The after care program is very structured and set up in a very organized fashion. His take on the risk were very informative through video and also reinterated at my formal session with him before the surgery. I rate Dr. williams very high in his professionalism and give him a high score but the surgery is tomorrow and I have yet to have a more indepth opnion. I believe surgical competence, and bedside manner are important.
My first meeting with doctor Richard was comforting. i look forward to him being my surgeon. I am looking forward to my pre-op meeting on august 6. The pre-op meeting went great. Surgery went good and my stay in the hospital was pleasent Dr. Richard came around and was always pleasent to me. he has a great bedside manner.soon after my surgery Dr. Richard was called up for active duty in Irag to take care of our wounded boys. that really made me feel good that i a doctor that serves our country. if this man can take care of a wounded solider a simple operation like this is nothing for him. thank you Doctor Richard for giving me my life back and our prayers are with you as you serve our country.
My first impression of Dr.Hart was that he is a nice man and knows what he is doing and is very straight to the point.
His office staff was very nice, also. Amanda is a very sweet lady. The only thing I am having a difficult time with is getting someone to contact me back after I leave a voice mail or emailing his bariatic coordinator(Amanda). Its frustrating. I have to work on being more patient, (thats all it is I guess).
They do emphasize an aftercare program and thats one of the reasons I chose Dr. Hart.
So all in all I would rate Dr. Hart him self a 10, but his staff maybe a 7 right now, but I hope things change in the long run so I can say a 10 rating for the whole experience..

P.S Wishing everyone lots of luck and caring thoughts during their journey.
My situation was a little different. I started my journey with another doctor, I was approved the 1st part of 11/03, but the doctor had a long wait for surgery dates. My insurance was changing 1/1/04 to another company. I didn't want to start the process over so I changed doctors. Dr. Hart office worked me in at the last minute with an appointment and surgery date before the end of the year. My 1st impression was he was the best, to acknowledge my needs and want to help get me in before the end of the year. He was very understanding and went over his procedures, he was very structured. He know exactly what he wants from the patient, the commitment to live by his policies. He had a package of details explaining everything I needed to know. My 1st visit with him he went over what to expect in surgery and addressed all the risks that could happen. Explaining that he has never lost a patient and the extra reinforcements in the stapling. The doctor showed that he would do a excellent quality job. My impression about him never changed. In fact my impression got better. After my surgery he showed up at the hospital to check on me several times a day. His office staff was very helpful in fitting in all the preop counseling before the surgery, they all worked together to make it happen. It was a matter of days before I was to have surgery. There is nothing I don't like about him, he is the greatest! Dr. Hart is a very caring and concerned doctor. He is very knowledgeable about the surgery and doesn't want anyone to be mislead. He cares about quality instead of quantity. He has a very structured aftercare program that he wants all his patients to follow, making sure the patient get the maximum benefit from the surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Hart to anyone that requires a highly safe and quality surgery.
I was originally all physic up to have Dr. Procter as my surgeon, but ended up being assigned to Dr. Richards. And as much as I was alittle disappointed in not getting Dr. Procter I sure was glad when it was all said and done that I got Dr. Richards. He has the patience of an angel, he explains everything in laymens terms and he takes the time to let you know what's going to happen and also what could and will happen after the surgery. I thank the good Lord that I ended upgetting him in the end. I ended up having a couple of complications from my surgery and he had to go back in and fix a couple of things, but after that it's been pretty easy. Dr. Richards explained everything he had to do when he went back in and apologized for having to go back in in the first place and that it took him so long to do it!! ( he waited 3 days after to go back in). Overall I have been extremely pleased with Dr. Richards.
I was very pleased with my first meeting with Dr. Hart. There were about six of us in for our first meeting and we had a group session first. He went over the surgery in detail. Each of us then met with him and his bariatric coordinator one-on-one. Everyone was very supportive and willing to answer questions.
I've been invited to my first support group session this Wednesday (2/4/04). I don't have a surgery date yet, but hope to have my surgery around the last of March or early April.
Dr. Hart wanted me to lose some weight before surgery, and that took awhile!! I was finally scheduled for July 13, 2004.
I really liked Dr. Hart. His bedside manner was great, and he is a great surgeon. I have had no complications. The only problem I had was with some of the office staff. Once I was able to ask Dr. Hart my questions, the problem was resolved.
