Northside Hospital of Atlanta Bariatric Center
Dr. Williams is a fantastic surgeon. I had my laparoscopic gastric sleeve done on 7/19/2018. The surgery was quick, with minimal pain with no complications. I was self-pay so I didn’t have a lot of pre-surgery doctors and meetings to go through. Dr. Williams’ office staff is and was very professional. All of my questions were answered by Dr. Williams and his staff. Dr. Williams consulted with me to help me pick the best surgery choice for me. I was provided very detailed instructions before surgery about the food plan and vitamins. His Johns Creek office was very easy to reach before and after surgery. While at the office, I met several other clients who were achieving their their weight loss and health goals with both gastric sleeve and gastric bypass. They highly recommended Dr. Williams. They said they would do it all again. I’m glad I chose Dr. Williams to be my surgeon. He had a great bedside manner the day of surgery. The surgery center at Emory Johns was wonderful as well. I was called a few days after surgery by the office to see how I was doing. I’m very pleased. I have already dropped 15 pounds since my surgery last week.
Zero stars.
Utterly unprofessional staff. Very rude. Answers not answered, phone calls not returned, complaints not answered/dealt with. "Office Manager" said she would email me back to address repeated problems and concerns...that was 2+ months ago. ZERO follow up/care. I feel this office is only concerned about making a buck. Dr Williams is pleasant, but seems unable to deal with horrific office staff (as he is in surgery 2-3 days a week (often arriving in scrubs) why should he care? His office has gotten my gender, surgery and name wrong repeatedly. I have genuine concerns about patient records privacy.
The surgeon seemed more proud of my weight loss (what a great job he did!) than my concerns. The info I got was...minimal (go to the facebook groups for better info!).
Oh, when doing a procedure to fix scarring from the gastric bypass- that is NOT the time to take a cheap shot at a patient.
--update, he has added a THIRD office. Ka-Ching!!! So his 'staff' sits there all day, while he is out of the office now 3? days a week, what they do all day, boggles the mind. They certainly are not busy answering emails or returning phone calls (assuming they can get the patients gender, surgery or name correct. Dr W- yes, you are reading these. What are you going to do to correct the problems? Hmmm?

Dr. Hart is a top notch first rate five star surgeon. I couldn't have been in any better hands. He is very quiet and reserved but very knowledgeable and super dedicated as well as being a talented surgeon. He is very open and will answers any and all questions. He answered all my questions before and after surgery to my satisfaction. He also has a very calming effect on you. I was nervous before surgery. He was very kind and reassuring. My stay in the hospital was also great. He checked on me and I felt very well taken care of. I had some complications after surgery when I got home (no fault of his). I was allergic to the internal stitches but after one call he had me on antibiotics and he called me a few times to check on me. He worked me in one day and removed the stitches. Great great post surgery care. I also like that he wants to see you EVERY year after surgery around your surgiversary. He wants to make sure you are doing well and it keeps you accountable. I LOVE that!
His office staff is also awesome. LaTonya is wonderful and helped us immensely with the insurance. His scheduling nurse Cyndi was just as great. She really worked with my schedule to schedule my surgery around my hectic life. His dietician Tracy is just wonderful. I can email her anytime. She has been a great help and lifeline to me at times.
I just can't say enough about Atlanta Bariatrics. I would highly recommend them and especially Dr. Hart. After my surgery I had to do a swallow test the check for leaks. That's just standard procedure. When the technician asked me who did my surgery and I told him Dr. Hart. His words as he looked at my test...Just pure perfection. I would agree. Having surgery was the best decision I have ever made and choosing Dr Hart to be my surgeon was the 2nd best decision in my weight loss journey. I am down 125 pounds and have reached my weight goal loss..actually I exceeded it. Off all of meds and a healthy BMI. I feel like a different person and I have my life back. My life back as a normal BMI and healthy weight life back. Dr Hart told me its about your health and a healthy BMI. He is realistic and just wants you to be healthy not have the body of a Victoria Secret model. He told me NO MORE DIETING after I reached my goal. I thought he would fuss at me because I wanted to lose more! He told me to eat healthy and exercise. I asked him if could get that in writing. LOL! He said he was so happy for me. And I really believe he means it. He cares about the patient's health and success.
Once again, I would highly recommend Dr Hart and Atlanta Bariatrics. They are just wonderful. Pre op and post op. I have no complaints and only high praise for them. They actually probably saved my life. And for that, I will be forever grateful! :)
I chose Dr. Richard after interviewing 4 other bariatric surgeons. From the first time I met him I knew he was the right choice. His extensive knowledge, true caring of his patient, and feeling like he is truly on your side will make you feel right at home with Dr. Richard and all of his staff. From my first visit, to the actual surgery, and even follow up care I've never been left wondering if I have made the right choice. Dr. Richard calmed my nerves prior to surgery, and reassured me that everything was going to be fine. I had the best surgical experience possible and Dr. Richard visited me regularly with smiles and encouragement. I would suggest that if you live ANYWHERE in GA that it is well worth the drive to see the best surgeon in the state.

Dr. Chris Hart is a good surgeon and did an adequate job with my surgery, as I expected he would. He has good outcomes and loads of surgical cases with good results. He doesn't have a very friendly demeanor and if you are looking for someone to baby you or give you loads of reassurances, he isn't your man.
I had no complaints with clinical outcomes or any medical issues. He continues to follow me (3 yr post op) and encourages working the program.
The main problem I had was with his surgical coordinator, Cyndi. She messed up the process from A to Z. I have read other reviews about how terrific she is, but this is the total opposite of the experience I had. She lost paperwork, sent my preauthorization to the wrong insurance company and more. What a disaster.
Because of her ineptness, my process began in early Feb., yet my surgery didn't take place till May. I understand making a mistake, but after repeated errors, she just kept making excuses and blaming others and said she was "overworked."
No, I didn't tell Dr. Hart, since I didn't want any bad feelings from the surgical team due to her lack of follow through and capability. Because of Cyndi, I haven't recommended this surgeon. Perhaps she has moved on and a new surgical coordinator has replaced her with adequate skills to get the process completed, without delays and excuses.
