Northside Hospital of Atlanta Bariatric Center
Dr. Hart is the best. I had met with two other doctors and was immediately taken with him and his staff. His office manager Lisa is the best, and she knows what it takes to get you approved. Dr. Hart takes his time to explain the surgery in detail and will sit with you and answer any and every question that you may have. My first impression of him was "gee he looks so young". But his credentials speak for themself. I would recommend Dr. Hart to anyone thinking about having this surgery. He has the right last name, because he has a big "hart" and cares about his patients..
Dr.Hart has got to be one of the nicest Doctors I know of. At no time has he ever made me feel "fat". I am very impressed with the way his office staff handle things. They are very kind and treat me like a person, not a patient. My surgery is scheduled for the 10th of September, I am sooo excited. I still need to finish off a few tests before they will submitt my insurance. Which is good, less likely for United Health to kick it back because it's missing something. Aftercare is stressed as well as group meetings. Dr. Hart is the best kept secret in Georgia!!
Dr. hart is the most caring doctor I have ever been to. He never judged me or looked down on my weight problem. He always answered my questions very well and completely. He made me feel completely at ease on th "BIG DAY". I really have nothing negative about him or his staff to say. My wait for surgery was very minimal and they handled all my insurance things for me. When you go in or call in they know and remember you. I liked that very much. dr. Hart is the only doctor i completely trust and have faith in.
I finally called Dr. Macik & Dr. Waits office to make an appointment. My appointment is July 31, 2002. I can't believe I finally made a decision and now I have to wait 3 months! This could be agonizing! Oh well, at least I've made a step in the right direction.
I decided to try another surgeon since it was going to take so long to get in and see Dr. Macik & Dr. Waits. So, I made an appointment with Dr. Hart. I met with him on June 5, 2002. I really liked him. I had met with my pcp a couple of weeks ago and had him write a letter to Dr. Hart. I also got copies of all my medical records. After seeing Dr. Hart, he said my next step is to see a psychologist. I have an appointment on June 19, 2002 with a psychologist. I will then see Dr. Hart again on July 3, 2002. At that time I hope we can go ahead and submit my information to my insurance company for approval.
I am very excited that I have the ball rolling now. I'm also a little nervous. But, I'm trying to just take it one step at a time.
Dr. John P. Daly MD FACS of Atlanta, GA. He was very professional and personable and answered all of my questions to my satisfaction. He is sending out my paperwork and a letter to my insurance company. I am crossing my fingers that I will be approved soon. My insurance company does not require an psy evaluation or a sleep test. Not sure how I dodged those. The only negative so far is that I had to wait 50 minutes.
My first impression of Dr Hart was that he was younger than I had pictured him. His staff was very easy to talk to and extremely helpful. I had prepared a list of questions to ask him during that first visit and he answered almost all of them with his talk to me before I could even ask them. He was very easy to speak to and I was very comfortable with him. We discussed the risks of this surgery, large and small and ways that we might help to avoid them or handle them after the surgery. I have to say that I'm very pleased that he is my doctor.
My doctor is Christopher Hart and my first impression of him was very good. He is very professional yet he was very comfortable. The more visits I had with him the more I really liked him. He answered every question I had honestly. He explained all the risk. I felt so at ease with him and I trusted him to take care of me. After my surgery I had one situation where I called Doc Hart and he had me meet him at the hosiptal to make sure I was ok. That made me know that I was in great hands because he would not take chances with my life. I rate Doc Hart as a 10 and I highly recommend him to anyone interested in this surgery. He is the best. His office is at Jones Creek in Duluth and his telephone number is (770) 232-2911. He has a web-site up at

I am seeing Dr. Hart, but please read about Dr. Champions office too. Dr. Hart is at the end of all this. Thanks!
Hello all! I had my first visit with Dr. Champion in Marietta GA. I had done so much research over the last 8-9 years on bariatric surgery, that I didn't have too many questions. I like his office staff, and he seemed to be very straight forward as well as compasionate. When I got to the office for the first time, they ask you to watch a video that goes over more of the risk factors, as well as the different procedures that they do, and any complications that they have had. I felt very secure knowing that he will talk about any complications that they have had in the past. The only thing I would change about the visit is that I waited about 4 weeks to get an appointment. I think he does a lot of other things besides just surgery. But overall, I felt that if it didn't look good for getting the surgery he would tell me up front. He has written my first letter to my insurance company, and now I wait.
OK! So here is the real deal, I can't use dr. Champion because he isn't with any insurance, so I go now to see Dr.Hart. I am exicted, because it looks like the only extra thing I will need to do is take a Psyc. test. Well, I haven't met Dr. Hart yet because he is in Haiti doing some surgical work. I really like that he is doing that because it seems like he may be very caring and compassionate. I really liked his office administrator named Lisa. She seems really nice.
Dr. Hart was very informative. He knew exaclty what I needed to do to get approval. We had all my ducks in a row before we submitted for approval. He showed me picture and explained the procedure and complications. This is the only surgerty he performs and from what I understand he has done hundreds of them. He is young, younger than me...but I consider that a good thing. Another very important factor to me personally is that he is a christian. I was ver comfortable with him and at this point have faith in hus ability
dr. daly was very nice on first meeting. he explained that this wasn't the only surgery he did, but that he had gone to the mayo clinic to learn the lap rny procedure. his staff was helpful but i had to keep on top of the insurance process until i got approved. once i was approved, dr daly tried to get bcbs of ga. to tell him what they would pay him, but they wouldn't.because of this i had to put up 2500.00 to cover the operation, with the intention of getting it back if the dr. recieved his rate. i have my pre-op tests this thursday and this will be the second time i meet the dr. i am hoping he will give good post-op care. of course i wish i didn't have to pay anything up front, but i figure it is my health. i saw the dr again and he was soooooo nice. he was apologetic that i had to put money down for the operation and we talked about how insurance companies generally stink. i had my pre-tests and everything went well...just waiting for surgery next week now..
