At first my doctor was really quite, didn't say much other than, okay this surgery would be good for you. Later I realized he is just shy. He did my sister's surgery before mine. The staff is great, Mildred really helped me out when I needed things. You will find their office is extremely busy and at first I was unhappy because I had to leave many messages just to speak to somone to interview before I could even get an appointment, but then the ball kept rolling. I had my surger on 2/09/05 and then the following Monday went back into to have some exploratory surgery because I was running temp of 104 degreees. I was in the hospital three more days and then I went home. Overall I would say that Dr. Hart's surgical competence really outweights his bedside mannor, but he means well. I would recommend him to anyone. He is really great.

Dr. Hart was very knowledgeable and very direct, he did not sugar coat anything, which put me at ease. He had a shy demeanor but overall I felt comfortable with him. His staff was friendly and efficient. I really liked how organized they seemed to be.

Dr. Williams was very soft spoken and very warm. From my research, I already knew he was very experienced at my surgery. He has a very calming manner. Without even conciously doing so, he made me feel at ease and important. His office staff is very thorough and caring as well. They walked me through everything I needed to do for approval. They encouraged me and cheered me on as if I were their only patient. I remember when I was in the hospital after my surgery (which was 9:30 am on Friday)I was pretty out of it the rest of the day. I barely remember my parents leaving. I have vague memories of the nurses coming in to give me shots and to check my vitals and get me up and walking around. One thing really stands out during Friday night. I don't know how late it was other than it *was* late. I was asleep and somehow sensed a presence at my bedside. At first, I thought it was one of the nurses. When I turned my head over, there was Dr. Williams with a warm smile on his face. He just wanted to stop in and see how I was doing. That really impressed me. Now, whether he was already at the hospital on some other business or not really doesn't matter to me. He made me feel special and that does matter to me. To date (5 days post-op) I have had no complications and I am mending nicely. My surgery was a Roux-N-Y and was done laprascopically(sp?). My parents report that the surgery lasted about 2 hours. The office has provided a very detailed after care program to see me all the way through. At this point, I'm just looking forward to the weight loss portion of the journey. I can't recommend Dr. Williams and Emory Dunwoody Medical Center highly enough. Everyone was just wonderful!

First Impression - quiet, soft spoken

Impression has not changed

Office staff, very freindly and willing to help.

There is nothing that I don't like about Dr. Williams.

He has a great bed side manner. Listens to me, answers all questions.

A complete manual is given at the pre-op appt that will help you at post-op.

Very structured aftercare program.

Video, one on one communication.

Dr, Williams gets a 10 in my book.

Surgical competence would rank #1, however bedside manner is important.

My fist visit with Dr. Hart was in a group setting. He reviewed the surgery and I was impressed with how knowledgable he is. He also gave his stats which are impressive. Although quiet when you meet with him one on one, Dr. Hart has been wonderful every step of the way. I would recommend him to anyone!

I felt very comfortable with my surgeon and my dietician. They both made me feel as though they would do their best to see that I had a safe and successful operation. Amanda, the bariatrics coordinator, did an excellent job of organizing all my tests and information and getting to my insurance quickly. Dr. Hart is very serious about making yourself as healthy and prepared as possible before surgery (ie no smoking and lose a little weight). And the entire staff made it perfectly clear that this is not a solution..it is simply a tool to becoming healthy. The only problem I have had so far is in having my phone calls returned from the coordinator. I've had to call back over and over again to get a response sometimes. However they did hire a new assistant coordinator, so maybe this will help in that aspect.

I went to Dr. Duncan's seminar but have decided against his office because I don't like the idea of not knowing who is going to do my surgery.

I selected Dr. Hart who is associated with Emory Dunwoody Medical Center which is a fabulous facility with a follow up program that allows for free exercise program with a personal trainer.

I had my consult with Dr.Hart. His office is very professional and he is straight and to the point giving you all the pro's and con's. Overall I feel confident in my decision to go with Dr.Hart.

I can not say enough nice things about Dr.Hart's staff. They are kind, patient and professional and very responsive.

Dr. Hart operates at Emory Dunwoody Medical center on Tuesdays and Wednesdays except for the third week of the month when he operates at Northside on Tuesday and Wednesday.

My 1st impression of Dr. Daly was a good one. And his office staff was fantastic! What I liked least about him was that I felt at my 1st appointment that he was rushed, things have changed since that time. He is very thorough. Future patients of his should know that he does a very good job of operating. I have had NO problems at all. Aftercare is emphasized quite a bit, with timely post-op appointments set to meet the patients needs. Dr. Daly and his staff also conduct monthly support meetings. The risks and side effects were explained to me at my level of understanding. I do work in the medical field and had a very good understanding prior to surgery. While no one is perfect, I would rate Dr. Daly at a 9, on a scale of 1-10. And I would have to say that both surgical competence and bedside manner are equally improtant. Dr. Daly did an excellent job with my surgery, and his bedside manner both before and after surgery were both kind and professional. I have already recommended him to others.

Dr. Daly is a great surgeon. I felt safe with him from the first time I met him. His office is small, but the staff especially Tammy bends over backwards to help you in any way she can. Tammy gives 1000% to each patient and she sincerely cares about each of the patients. If you need anything done, Tammy will get it done. Dr. Daly does emphasize aftercare and recently started his own support group that meets once a month on the first Monday of the month a Northside Hospital. The risks of surgery are gone over in detail. In fact, Dr. Daly makes each of his patients sign a contract with him stating that they are serious about the program and will follow up with Dr. Daly regularly. Overall, I would say Dr. Daly is a great doctor and surgeon. He tries his best to make you feel the most comfortable you can be. It does seem like he is rushing through stuff sometimes, but that is because he wants you to know things about aftercare as he gives it to you, in stages. This is good so you don't get ahead of yourself.
