Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Center for Weight Management at St. Francis Hospital
I was very displeased where they put me after my surgery. There was no door on my room and it was so noisey and bright it was hard to rest. They sent me back to day surgery and that's where I was all night. I had a nurse who had no clue about overweight people or wls surgery/recovery that she changed the position of my bed and had I not known that it was not ok I could have had problems. I felt the nurses were bothered if I asked for something or needed to get up. They really didn't push the walking unless I asked to get up.
St. Francis is a center of excellence . It is run & laid out beautifully . The parking needs improvement . My hospital stay was very positive .
I love the way this hospital is run . I was pleased with my care . I have nothing but praise .
Fantastice, hospitable and warm. The ONLY frustration is during your waiting time to be called back for procedures. You don't really have an exact appointment time. It's a general time and you could be there hours before going back so, bring a good book and magaiznes to keep yourself busy.
Otherwise this Hospital was FABULOUS!!!
When I came back to the ER with a complication a day after my Lap-Band surgery I was kept waiting for 10 hours and treated horribly! My small intestine had herniated through one of my incisions and I could have died if it had ruptured. Luckily, the intestine died instead of rupturing, but I still had to have an emergency operation to have 8" of bowel removed since they waited so long to examine my complaint. If they had addressed my concerns when I came in, I could have avoided the surgery, a week in the hospital, a $27,000 bill, and 6 weeks of recovery at home! I will NEVER set foot in that hospital AGAIN!
