I had some really great nurses, (Tanya, Lynn, Chris -YOU GUYS ROCK!!) my cna's were wonderful (Kesha, Ernesto and Amie - YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!) I had a small complication and these guys were so on top of it! The charge nurses Carolina and Urlinda were wonderful...Even thou I think I had a CT scan just so Carolina could see her boyfriend. (LMAO!!) I would say that the staff on the surgical floor was really good and I would recommend this hospital to anyone having this surgery! (PS on a side note - I ended up getting myself a lil dehydrated and visited the lovely ER at OCMMC and they were really friendly and the care I received was excellent there, too!!)

I only had a couple of problems while I was at Orange Coast. One was being left in a prep area for several hours before my surgery, but maybe that's normal. Two was being left unchecked for many hours while my IV slipped in my hand, causing it to swell with fluid and become painful. And three was, when I could finally bring my hand to the staff's attention, they spent an awfully long time trying to get my IV reinserted, giving me bruises that lasted for weeks. Other than those problems, though, the staff and hospital were great.

I had the most wonderful hospital experience. the staff were so helpful and friendly. I didn't have any complaints at all. Any time I called, they were right there within 2 minutes, tops. Always asking me if I had any questions and if I needed anything. I found the private room very accomodating, especially because I could close the door to stifle the yelling lady across the hall. They allowed visitors anytime. My only complaint was that they dd not have good accomodations for overnight guestsm which they welcomed. they had just purchased new reclining chairs for overnight visitors, but they were the most uncomfortable things ever. So I sent my mom home, and the next night, i sent my boyfriend home. Other than that, it was a wonderful, quiet and helpful place to have surgery.
