The docters, nurses residents, etc. were all wonderful and supportive. I couldn't have imagined being any better taken care of!

I had a great experience with Highland. All the nurses were excellent but ONE! She must have been having a bad day or night it was the 11-7 shift. Other then that one shift..one day... I can say Everyone was so great! Hawlet was the best tech every !!!

i thought they were great. this hospital does a high volume of gastric bypass and they have a good attitude towards the surgery and it's patients.

I do feel their techs need to be more consistantly trained. They should never attempt to take a blood pressure from the arm where your IV is planted! One of my techs did this and two hours later my hand was puffed up like a balloon.

I do wish they would mop the floors in the rooms on a daily basis - especially the bathrooms.

Other than that, the care I received was great. My nurses were exceptional.

Staff was attentive but very, very sloppy with procedures. Didn't turn on anti-embolism booties 3X right after surgery; forgot to put new fluids in IV; IV was improperly inserted and no one noticed till the day after surgery; forgot to bring me device for exercising/opening up the lungs--I could go on and on.

Fortunately I was assigned a diligent student nurse who caught some of these things, and who made sure my needs were met. I'll always be grateful to Patti!

Patients: be aware of what's going on and don't be afraid to 'bug' the nurses to do things right. They don't seem to mind being reminded--but you WILL need to do so.

I am very glad that Dr. O'Malley is at Highland. The staff was wonderful and my experience was great.

The nursing staff was wonderful. Geordie, you are the best nurse I have ever had, and I've had lots. The entire staff on the surgical ward was great. Wonderful care and empathy and so positive in the outcome of this surgery. I would go there in a New York minute again.
