Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital
There was a very good charge nurse during the day - without him I probablly would of died. (figure of speech) When I demanded to be placed in a private room and they finally found the mistake they had made programing my morphine drip pump - I got some rest - but that was on the second day. I hated my hospital stay and would never go back to that hospital.
My stay there very pleasant, except the radiology department. Less than 24 hours after OPEN RNY, the Radiology tech told me I would have to lay on my stomach, side and back-flat on the metal table for my leak test. Then after I absolutely refused a stomach position, She said ok, just lay on your back then on your side. Up I went onto my back. Then she said, No you need to start on your side. The pain was intense turning back and forth. Then the radiologist came in and said, No I need her on her back. I cried throughout the entire thing and none of them expressed one moment of concern. Don't let them push you around. Talk to the radiologist first, before you even get on the table!
The hospital is nice, The staff is friendly but not very Bariatric knowledgeable. The kitchen kept sending me SUGAR items in my meals although told repeatedly I was on a diabetic diet. The nurses were friendly to my guest. I felt i was not walked soon enough. It took 2 days before they got me up to walk.
