I have never had surgery but the staff was very aware of what kind of surgery I had and how to handle my issues. From the Nurse to the person that delivered my food....everyone was very friendly and attentive.

The hospital stay overall was good. I had to wait for someone to bring me back to my room (1 1/2 hrs.) They claimed they were backed up. The day shift nurses were extremely attentive, but the night shift nurses had little to be desired as far as attentiveness. The bed I was placed in was very uncomfortable. It was one of those inflatable type beds, only my bed would deflat and would not want to inflat again for a while. I dealt with it because after all I was only in there for 2 days.

My first contact with Dr. Classen was at a pre-surgery meeting in November. From the very being I was impressed and my opinion has not changed. Over-all his staff has been supportive, I still hate talking to voicemail, but it's that way everywhere. My surgery is scheduled for the 2-1-05, I have not found anything about him or staff members that I do not like. Everyone emphasizes follow the doctors plans after surgery, that one become part of the "family". So far I am very pleased with everything.
Which is better, surgical competence or beside manner, well It's nice to have both but surgical competence is the most important thing to be

The staff at this hospital are outstanding from the transportation staff and kitchen help all the way up to the Doctors, everyone is very attentive and helpful in any way possible.

My first impression was that he really cared about his patients. He was very upfront and honest about the surgery no sugar coating he did not make you feel ashamed of how big you are. He makes you feel very comfortable and very upfront. I am very comfortable with choosing him to do my surgery. I have also attended his support group meetings which are wonderful because you get to meet others who have had surgery and she their progress.

I appreciated the professional atmosphere of the office staff as a whole. All my questions were answered until they were sure I understood completely. They were very encouraging and compassionate. There is a support group that meets at the office once a month. It is up to the individual to maintain contact with the Dr and support group after surgery. The billing is confusing, the hospital billed after the doctor did and it messed up my deductible and copay amounts I had been quoted. I would still have it done and I appreciate Dr. Classen and his staff for their help.

Have not had surgery yet but have been very impressed with Dr. Classen and also his nurse Donna. Donna was very informative and supportive before I got approved by the insurance. Had some slight trouble in geting my paperwork turned in and verified by my insurance but was approved within a week! My only complaint is the receprionist who sits at the front desk at the office. She has been extremely rude both times I have been in there and if I were not so extremely impressed by Dr. Classen and Donna I think I would consider changing Doctors. No one who is putting their life inanother persons hands wants to be treated rudely and dismissive by a clerk witting behind a desk. I think if I feel this way again on my next visit I will mention it to the nurse.
Overall I am really impressed otherwise with my Doctor.

He seemed very informed on both the surgery, as well as the problems it is meant to treat and help alleviate when I first met him at one of the seminars conducted by himself and Dr. Davidson.

I first met Dr. Classen at the Bariatric seminar on Sept. 22, 2004. My initial impression of him was that he seemed very straight forward and to the point. I like that. Don't care to have anything sugar coated for me. Give me the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth please. I saw him today for the first time one on one. He is definately my kind of Doctor. (not to mention....he's not bad to look at either)He is willing to address any questions you may have and his staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I am looking forward to my journey with him and am glad I found the perfect Doctor for me.
