Dr Duncan was great, he was cheerful, not
mean or rude about you being overweight, he
was very helpful about getting info to help
with decisions, his office was great, they
filed all the paper work needed and got me
approved first try. He was great after, I
had no real problems, just learnging to eat
better. I'm going these week for my 9mnths
check up. The first few visits after surgery
were very helpful, at one point about 3mnths
after surgery I had slowed down alot, they
helped me eat the way I should to increase the loss again. He address the surgery with
a postive attitude, address the risk, but not
scaring me. The surgical competence and bedside were both great, I have given his name and number to about 4 people.
Had group meeting on May 9th with Dr. Spinx (Assoc of Dr. Duncan) My insurance was approved on May 22nd. I have pre-op appt on Sept 19th and surgery scheduled on SEPT 25th. Pysch & Dietitian appts and Clearance from PCP are all complete. While I'm waiting I've been researching protein and vitamins that I will need post-op.
8/24/02 Had group pre-op meeting today with about 25 other pre-ops. Informative and pleasant. Glad to finally get to meet Dr. Duncan. He has the lowest complication rate in GA.
DR. TITUS DUNCAN IS A WONDERFUL PERSON. FROM THE FIRST
TIME I MET HIM I FELT THE SAME WAY. HE ALSO HAS
A CARING STAFF THAT DOES EVERYTHING THAT THEY CAN
TO HELP YOU.
DR. DUNCAN IS VERY CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR AFTERCARE
HE ASKS THAT YOU SEE HIM 2 WEEKS, 3 MONTHS, 6 MONTHS
1 YEAR, AND AFTER YEAR AFTER THAT.
HE RANKS #1 IN MY BOOK.
BOTH HIS SURGICAL COMPETENCE AND BEDSIDE MANNER
ARE GREAT!!!
I am really pleased that I have chosen Dr. Duncan. I have a co-worker that just had her surgery on 7-26-02 and she is doing great. My surgerey date is 10-09-02 and I can not wait to have it. My only issue is Joyce. She is great adn she does answer all of your questions but you can never talk to her when you call. You are sent to her voicemail and then she returns your calls with 2 days (supposedly) I have been in a battle with her over my date because i don't think that it is fair for people that have had there 1st visit after me to get scheduled befor me. Joyce just said that it depends on my BMI and other factors. I just tried to call her befor I signed on and once again I was sent to her voicemail. With all fairness Joyce is on-top of her game and she really does know what she is doing but I think that she can do a better job at scheduling the surgeries.
preop teaching was great...staff is slow and did not always know what the other hand was doing...however tony was and is great and supportive,...the nurse clinical manager...she is always available...always calls back propmtly and because she has had the surgery is so filled with positive enery it just rubs off on you ..has a great sense of humor and is very respectful...dr duncan is great...liked dr miller too but he is a gem, a definate keeper, lol!!!
The first time I met Dr. Duncan my immediate thought was this is a VERY educated man. He was well spoken and very detailed about the information the he was giving. I knew instantly that this was a surgeon that was very passionate about what he does, which meant alot to me personnaly, because I am in the health field and I know when someone is telling me something to passify me or "giving it to me straight." Since having the surgery, this has obviously become a passion of my own. I now work with Dr. Duncan, and my impression of him is even more so than before. He is a very compassionate man, with great dreams and aspirations for his patients and healthcare as a whole. I am very proud to now be apart of his team.
I think Dr. Duncan is the BEST. I was 300 pounds over weight and he was able to do LAP on me. After a C-Section and GallBladder. HE is wonderful.
I still think he is the BEST.
NOTHING. Just that he is so busy it took a while to get a surgery date.
HE is the BEST but you will probably have to wait a bit for a surgery date.
He tells you this is only a tool and your attitude and change of behavior is needed to make the surgery a success.
He requires 3 month follow ups and recommends you see your PCP on a regular basis.
He was very open and honest about the risks of the surgery. He makes you take a little quiz to make sure you really understand what you are getting yourself into.
Overall, I think Dr. Duncan is the BEST and recommend him to anyone who asks.
Both, he is a great person and a great surgeon, can't ask for more than that.
