Dr. Duncan is an excellent surgeon. I know that he has a long wait when you go to his office to visit, but believe me he is worth the wait. He is very patient and always there when you need him, day or night. He cares about his patients and shows that in the way he deals with you in a one on one situation. If you're in the Atlanta, Ga area please consider seeing him. His staff is wonderful and very helpful also.

I felt at ease with Dr. Duncan. He seemed very patient and had no problem answering all of my questions. His staff was very kind. Kirsten who is the one who takes care of the insurance, and payments has been very helpful. Dr. Duncan and Dr. Miller (his partner, she is a female) are starting a support group that I am going to attend.

Dr. Duncan is so incredible!!!! I loved all
the office staff...they were so warm and
pleasant - not what I'm used to from a
medical office staff at all. I had researched
several surgeons in the last few weeks, and
I decided to go with Dr. Duncan due to his
impressive credentials. Besides that, he is
a general laparoscopic surgeon who is now
concentrating on bariatric surgery. I didn't
wnat to go to a surgeon who is so busy that
he can't afford individual patient attention.
I'm a baby and I want to be given that extra
time and care if I need it. And Dr. Duncan
and his staff will obviously do that!
Dr. Duncan was really easy to talk to, and
quite patient. He explained that my initial
appointment was to get an overview of the
procedure and that once I got pre-approved
that I would be back in for a more complete
workup. Also, he will be personally
attending the first support group meeting
for his patients on 6/16/01 in Atlanta!!!
Dr. Duncan took great care to explain that
he wants his patients fully informed about
all of the surgical risks so that if a
complication is encountered it will not be
met with fear and ignorance. I LIKE that!
I am SO glad that I am seeing this surgeon.
I give him the BIG thumbs-up! (like a movie
review, huh?) And it really helped me to find
out that Dr. Duncan also has a really
terrific sense of humor!!!! I have a hard
time trusting/liking physicians in general,
but Dr. Duncan totally shattered all of my
reservations.

My first appointment with Dr. Duncan was 4/12/01. I have heard that he is an excellent laparoscopic surgeon. He seemed very knowledgeable about the procedure. His office staff is very friendly and helpful.

He was refered to me by my primary doctor. He is supossibly the best lapo surgeion in the Georgia Area. Has been highly recommended.

He seems to be very straight forward. Doesn't try to sugar coat anything but still tells you that you have the potential to to acheieve your weight goal. He gives you all the information about the procedure and exactly what the procedure will do. He tels you about some of the possible side effect and how to prevent them.

The staff has been very nice. The take time to get to know you, and your case.

There really wasn't anything that I found that I didn't like.

He doesn't pull any punches, he tells you exactlly what is going to happen to you and your body.

He states that after care is very important...That the sucess of the surgery depends on how well you take care of yourself after the surgery.

He doesn't have a structured aftercare program.

He does address the risk of the surgery.

I would rate him so far as being a 9, no one is perfect.

Both are very important.

My first impression of Dr. Duncan was that he was kind, informative, professional and really up on WLS. His office staff is the best I've ever seen. I went to his office one time and they all knew my name and even when I called in to ask quesions, they all seemed to remember me and get to my chart real fast and know exactly where I stood in the process, they are amazing. The waiting room is always full and they do a tremendous volume, but still treated me like I was their only patient. I will be able to add more about Dr. Duncan after I'm approved for surgery and have more visits with him.

I'm in the process of making my first appointment with Dr.Duncan. I have spoke with the staff and they were really nice and took time to answer all my questions.
May... The guy is great!! He really is a great Doctor, answers all your questions honestly and makes sure you understand him.The staff really did all the work with CIGNA for me.

Actually Dr. Duncan works with another doctor, Dr. Miller. I met with her and she was so nice. She took alot of time with me describing in detail the surgery... she answered all my questions and then some that I hadn't even thought of. The entire office staff is really nice and professional. The clinical coordinator has been assigned the task of getting all my insurance and preliminiary checks done... and to date she's doing a great job. I've already seen a dietitian, scheduled for my ultra sound, as well as scheduled to see a pulminologist for my lungs. Still no word about approval from insurance yet.. but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

HI I HAVE NOT MEET THE SURGEON BUT I DO HAVE AN APPT ON FEBRUARY 22,2001 AND I HAVE ELECTED TO SEE DR.DUNCAN I WILL UPDATE YOU AFTER I SEE THE DOCTOR.

2/24/01 I DID MEET DR. DUNCAN HE WAS VERY NICE AND ANSWER MY QUESTION HIS ASSISTANT CAME IN BEFORE HE DID AND SHE EXPLAINED WHAT THE SURGERY CONSIST OF WHERE I WOULD BE CUT AND ANSWERED A FEW QUESTION. DR. DUNCAN WAS VERY PATIENT AND HAD A OPEN EAR.THE OFFICE STAFF ARE VERY PROPFESSIONAL AND NICE. THE ONLY THING I DID NOT LIKE WAS ----NOTHING ---
I WAS VERY PLEASED. JUST KEEPING IN MIND THAT MY FRIST VISIT IS NOT MY LAST AND DR DUCAN TOLD ME THAT HE WILL SEE ME AGAIN AFTER MY LETTER IS TYPED UP.....THERE WAS A LOT OF THING THAT I DID NOT DISCUSS, WHICH HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DOCTOR ...I JUST KNOW THAT THERE WILL BE TIME LATER TO ASK AND I HAVE TO SAY THAT I HAVE EDUCATED MY SELF ABOUT THIS WLS SO ALOT OF THINGS I KNOW ALREADY AND FROM WORKING WITH DOCTORS FOR 10 YEARS I KNOW THAT IT IS ONLY SO MUCH THEY CAN SAY AND THAT ANY MAJOR SURGERY CAN HAVE RISK.SO I PUT MY FAITH IN GOD AND KNOW THAT HE WILL WORK THE DOCTOR THAT IS WORKING ON ME. UPDATE I HAVE NOT BEEN BACK TO THE OFFICE BUT I HAVE SPOKEN WITH OFFICE STAFF OVER THE PHONE THEY ARE VERY NICE AND PROFESSIONAL
