Dr. Hoehn is a wonderful doctor. From the beginning, he was very uplifting and encouraging. The program he offers is all encompassing. I have been very pleased with the level of professionalism, care, and thouroughness of the practice. His staff is excellent. Each of them care about each patient - no small task. I never felt like a number and no question was ever too small. There wasn't anything I didn't like about him or his staff. Before the surgery he was very helpful in answering questions. During surgery he did a fabulous job! After surgery he was very supportive. I know this sounds impossible but it is true. The whole practice took me and my concerns seriously. Aftercare is a huge part of this program. If you aren't interested in follow up, look on. This program includes counseling, nutrition help, support group assistance, physical therapy advice, and regular follow up office visits. The aftercare program is organized to get you involved in each of these areas.
From the very beginning, prospective patients attend a session that provides a basic overview of information about the various types of surgery available. During this session, there is frank discussion about the risks of surgery. I tell people that my view of Dr. Hoehn is that he is trying to create a highly successful program in terms of the patient success rate rather that just numbers. I would rate Dr. Hoehn and his office staff a 10+. Dr. Hoehn, Nola, Billie, Linda, Dr. Sabopathy, the nutritionists, and the physical therapists THANKS FOR MY NEW LIFE!
My very first impression of Dr Hoen, was wow he's very serious, and very young. LOL I knew from the time I saw him, that he is the one that I wanted to do my surgery. I was actually at the Support Meeting checking out another Dr when Dr Hoen took the stand, and I knew that he is the one that I wanted to have. I ve had a consultation with him, and again very serious person, almost a perfectionist and that comforts me. I am still in the process of learning about the after care program. But it definately sounds like something I could use!!
I felt comfortable with him immediately. He really seems to know what he is talking about. I have only met with him once so my impression has not changed over time. The office is nice. There is nothing that I don't really like about Dr. Hoehn so far. I would say he seems very honest and straightforward. The aftercare is extremely emphasized and very structured. The risks of the surgery were laid out in a very straight forward manner. I would rate the experience so far very positively.
I first met Dr. Hoehn at one of his seminars. I learned about the surgery and Dr. Hoehn from my daughter, who works in the operating room at Shawnee Mission Hospital. The surgery sounded like just what I've needed.......so I started the process.
As many have already express, Nola makes things happen! After jumping through all the hoops, (which Nola already knew about), I was accepted for surgery in less that a week after Nola sent off my package!
I've been attending the support meetings since I got involved in this procejure, and I like the support given by all of the staff, and the support group itself.
Just can't wait for the surgery, (only 9 days away as of this writting), and seeing the pounds come off! I'm looking forward to getting in my antique Triumph sports cars in the spring and my belly not touching the steering wheel!
My first impression of Dr. Hoehn was "he's the one I want to do my surgery". The moment I saw him and heard him speak at the seminar I immediately knew he was the one. First impressions are always the right impressions. Throughout time I have come to respect him and his gift more than I did before. There is not a thing I don't like about Dr. Hoehn. He is a caring, passionate, and understanding physician. He's especially a good listener. How can you learn about your patient if you don't listen to them. Excellent quality for a doctor to have. Dr. Hoehn really really stresses aftercare for full results. Every visit I have me makes sure I'm doing what I'm suppose to be doing and getting my blood work done. The first visit to Dr. Hoehn office he addressed the risks of the surgery with me on a honesty level. Honesty is also an excellent quality for a physician. Surgical competence and bedside manner are both great to have. If you do not find them in a physician then you need to keep searching, because you shouldn't have one without the other.
When I first met Dr Hoehn at his seminar I left there with a complete feeling of ease. He is very thorough in his explanations and answered every question that came up in a manner that made you feel important, he didn't "talk down" to you as some Drs do. (he's a cutie too)The ENTIRE staff at Bariatric Center of Kansas City is just unbelievable, they go wayy above and beyond to make you feel like you are the single most important patient they have. But I would like to point out Nola specifically, she is one incredible lady, and I just don't have the right words to decribe how terrific she truly is. Nola, you're a godsend! All in all, I could not be any happier with my decision to go with Dr Hoehn, and the staff at the Bariactric Center of Kansas City!!
He is very friendly and informative. Dr. Hoehn has is warm and friendly, and always willing to hear and address my questions. He truly cares about how I am doing and wants to make sure I have everything I need to make my WLS a success. His Office staff are so nice and make going to the office a happy place. The nurses are great! I had my LAP RNY on 8/31/04, and Dr. Hoehn had great bedside manner and very caring. Since this was my very 1st surgery experience ever, I would rate him an A+.
