Randall Bolar Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

I loved Dr. Bolar the first time I met him. He answered all my questions, and was very understanding. I am so used to physicians treating overweight people like second class citizens, but he made me feel totally comfortable. His patients all have wonderful things to say about him. I went to a support meeting in Georgetown in July and his thanked him over and over for his support and his help giving them their life back.
I have to admit I have been a little frustrated with his staff, they are a little slow to return phone calls. And I first faxed my insurance card to them the first of April and it took the muntil the middle of May to call me for my first appointment. My first appointment was July 9th. So it took from the first of April until July 9th to get in to see him.

Dr. Bolar was very friendly and compassionate. He is easy to talk to and I liked the way that he looked directly into your eyes when he was speaking. He seems to be very adept at describing what to expect in terms that anyone would understand. His office staff was also very informative and helpful. I attended a support group meeting where he was the guest speaker. I found has a WONDERFUL sense of humor and is really interested in making sure all understand the proceedure in depth. I would definitely reccommend him to anyone seeking a surgeon!

Dr. Bolar is a very highly qualified experienced surgeon. He has outstanding bedside manners and went out of his way to be kind to me and my family. He has an outstanding follow-up program and follows up regularly for the year after. Dr. Bolar gives you his home # and anytime I have had to call has treated me with the upmost kindness and like a real person and not just a number.I would rate him a 10 on a scale from 1- 10 with 10 being the best. He was well worth the 2 1/2 hour drive to have him as my surgeon!

Attended a Support group/ seminar and Dr. Bolar came for a question/answer session. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Bolar. He explained everthing thoroughly. Him and His wife were both very sweet. I couldn't have a better doctor.

I met with Dr. Bolar and his staff and thought they were just wonderful. Dr. Bolar explained the process to me in detail and made sure I understood what a huge step/ jouney this will be. He made me feel very comfortable. The office staff was fabulous in going over the insurance information and giving me realistic expectations, she offered suggestions of information to get from my pcp that might help with my insurance approval.

My first impression of Dr. Bolar was very good. I really like him. He answered all of our questions, acted like he had time to talk to us (which is rare with doctors). He said to call if I had any other questions. His office staff was all very helpful and nice.

I was comfortable with Dr. Bolar from the moment I met him. He has an easy-going, yet confident air about him. He has more experience than most surgeons in WLS, and I knew I was in excellent hands. He was straight-forward and honest with me about what the surgery entailed, and its risks/benefits. Although I am in the medical field, he explained the surgery to me just like he would any other patient--then allowed me all the time I needed to ask questions. Everyone (me included!) who works with or has been a patient of Dr. Bolar thinks the world of him :) I would recommend him to anyone researching WLS.

I can only say one negative thing about his office staff--they are a bit disorganized. I was initially given a surgery date, then found out a week later that no one wrote it down in the book and I couldn't have surgery that day! Luckily they rescheduled me for the same week, since I had already arranged my vacation time.

My first impression of Dr. Bolar and his staff was WOW, they are a great group of professionals. They took time to answer my questions and made me feel very comfortable. The best part was they don't like to wait around. They like to get the ball moving. I thought that it would take a month or two to have surgery but it wasn't, it was two weeks. I was so amazed. If it wasn't for my insurance company, I could have had the surgery in a week. However, things happen the way God wants them to happen. There isn't anything we can do about it. Dr. Bolar has a great bedside manner, very informative, very thorough with his patients before and after surgery. I would not have chosen another surgeon to do this procedure for me. Thank you, Dr. Bolar once again!!!!!

I had my initial consult...Dr Bolar is wonderful! He has massive experience & is very confident about his surgical skills. He also attended a Support Group meeting , and has a good sense of humor. I like him.

They have been very informative and willing to help in any way to make this dream come true for me. They should all sleep very well each night...knowing the joy they help

I really liked Dr. Bolar. He was very kind and informative. Took his time to explain everything. I am looking forward to have him as my Dr. His staff was very friendly. He does have an after care program that you must follow and that is great. You need to know how to take care after it is over so you can start your new life an not undo what he did. He addressed the risk. I would rate him high 10 he seems like a very compentent Dr.
