Dr. Lin and his staff are great! The only complaint I have is that it sometimes takes a day or two to get a phone call back after leaving a message. I can live with that. They are very supportive and I felt comfortable with Denise his PA and with the interns working under him. Everyone is wonderful. If you have a question you can ask and you will get a very educated, straight forward and quick answer.

The only suggestion I have is this: Dr. Lin see's you for a consult then you are sent out to gather the paperwork he wants from you. None of the paper work is hard to get but after you have complete all of this...then and only then do they try to get approval for surgery from your insurance company. This was a problem for me because I spent two months running around getting tests, meeting shrinks and having my hopes built up only to find out my policy has some special wording it that I guess you wouldn't catch unless you speacialize in dealing with insurnace companies. I think they should talk to your insurance company before allowing your to begin your quest to gather paperwork.

On my first visit to Dr. Lin's office, I was alittle apprehensive thinking that I would probably be treated like cattle... move them in... move them out. But this was not so, his office staff were very attentive, actually talking to me.. and not down to me. Very nice change. I first met Dr. Lin's practicing intern - very understanding... he will make a good family doctor some day. Dr. Lin was very nice, truly seems to care about obese people. He took the time to listen and also explained the procedure in detail with me. As with all surgery's you go in quit scared - Dr. Lin explained the risks - but I really feel I am in capable hands - lessening the scared feelings.

Dr. Lin seems very patient centered - he took time to talk to me about the risks and differences in proceedures.

I first saw Dr. Lin and Denise on November 27, 2002. My surgery was scheduled February 20, 2003. It was a lengthy process, but worth it. Every one in Dr. Lin's office was very professional, he left no questions unanswered. He is a very caring doctor and is very instered in all his patients. He spends a lot of time every visit and makes sure all questions are addressed.

The hospital stay was a "bummer" the hospital staff was hardly around and they were not very helpful. Thankfully, I had a friend stay with me so I was taken care of.

The hospital staff is no reflection on Dr. Lin and his staff, they all have been wonderful. They expect you to call any time if you have a question or problem.

I had a very good experience with my surgery and very few problems after. I was extremely happy with Dr. Lin and have referred many of my friends to him. I would choose him again if I ever had to have surgery again!!!

I have only seen Dr. Lin for my initial visit so far and I found Dr. Lin and his Nurse Practitioner, Denise Hough, MSN, CRNP (who assisted with the interview) to be both very professional and extremely pleasant. Dr. Lin did a wonderful job explaining the procedure to me, discussing options and helping me to decide what would give me the best outcome. Ms. Hough was just great during the interview and has continued to be there whenever I have had questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Lin just from my initial experience with him and his office.

My first impression of Dr. Lin was that he is very intelligent and informed about this procedure. His nurse Denise is so very kind and helpful. Dr Lin was very truthful about all the risks and benefits of surgery, he did not sugar-coat the truth and was very optimistic that I would have good sucess with this surgery. I have only seen Dr. Lin once so far for my initial evalutation, however I would say that over all Dr. Lin is a very competant and caring doctor and I would recommend him to anyone.

My initial appointment with Dr. Lin is scheduled for February 5, 2003.

Dr. Lin is my savior!!! Dr. Lin is very down to earth. He was very informative about the procedure. Everything he told me was true (pain, expectations. etc.) His staff is great. They are so helpful and encouraging. They were very knowledgeable about what the insurance companies needed to approve the surgery. They were very good about keeping on top of the paperwork that came in from all of the specialists that I had to see. He always gives me plenty of time at each appointment and never makes me feel that any question is stupid. He is not arrogant like some doctors can be. He has a great bedside manner. He acts like he really cares about you as a person and your personal success. Dr. Lin is truly the best doctor that I have ever seen. There is not one thing about him that I didn't like. I would be happy to answer specific questions regarding the care that I have received. Truly no complaints. I did have some issues with my care in the hospital, however; everything that I brought to Dr. Lins' attention, he helped with.

My surgeon was Dr. Paul Lin and very very competent and has a wonderful bedside manner. His support staff is always wonderful....I can't say enough good things about Dr. Lin and his staff.

The only thing I would say need to be improved is his aftercare program...he doesn't really have one at this point and you're left to find your own. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. He does emphasize the importance of aftercare but doesn't have a program for his patients. That is the one and only thing I would say needs improvement.

The Dr and his staff were all very informative when it came to the surgery and all aspects of it (risks, what to expect, etc).

I would rate him very very highly for his practice and surgical competence and bedside manner.

My first impression of him was that he was
very clinical and emotionless of the
procedure. However, after becoming his
patient I feel that he cares quite a lot
about his patients. His office staff is
mostly great - especially his nurse
practitioner Denise. His residents/med
students were great to me in the hospital.
He was just listed in Washingtonian magazine
as one of the top docs in the DC area. He
does a lot of cancer surgeries in addition
to the WLSs. He makes you watch a 45 minute
video the first time you go to his office
and he gives lots of literature as to the
risks and benefits of the surgery.
Unfortunately he does not actively participate
in an aftercare program but they do give
you info about one.
I think his surgical competence is better
than his bedside manner but it's a close
call.
