So far I like my surgeon because he is very knowledgeable in what he is doing and he is very thorough in preparation for this procedure.

I met my surgeon for an initial consult. I felt that he was very professional but approachable. His assistant was very nice. She seemed knowledgeable . I felt comfortable and peaceful when I left the Drs office. He addressed the Risks of surgery as expected. Overall I would recommend his practice to others.

Dr. Lin is very knowledgeable and very highly regarded by Kaiser. I have had only an initial consultation with him (on 05/02/07), with my surgery date pending results of additional tests. My personal impression of this initial consult was less than positive. He sent in a very skinny, very inexperienced medical student to do the initial screening interview. When Dr. Lin finally arrived (1 hour later), he was a bit abrupt and did not want to be interrupted with questions while he was talking with me. He did, however, compliment me on knowing as much as I did about the RNY surgery already (from my own extensive research) when I came in for the consult. His office staff and clinical RN were very kind and very helpful, both during the visit and afterwards in phone calls. I will put more here after the surgery.rnrnUpdate following 6-26-07 LRNY: Dr. Lin is the BOMB! I was incredibly impressed with all of his knowledge, and the fact that he visited with me in pre-op and answered additional questions. He also personally checked on me during the 3-day hospital visit at least twice per day (with residents, as this was a teaching hospital), but spent 15 minutes with me each time. I have only met with his NP since the surgery, but she is as knowledgeable as Dr. Lin is.

My first impression of Paul Lin was before i was even an patient.I work GW hospital and was impress with his successful surgeries.Over time I just became more and more impress. His office staff is great even when i felt like i was calling them all the time they never made me feel like i was a bother. He explains everything in plain english. He tells you upfront what to expect.I love him i would not see anyone else for this surgery even when other people was telling me about other surgeons my mind was already made. His bedside manner and surgical competence is great. And he is a good leader his resident Dr Sabnis was there preop, surgery and post op and I like him too.

My first impression of Dr. Lin is that he is a very warm and caring individual. He was very thorough in explaining the procedure. Dr. Lin and his staff appear to be very courteous, patient and knowledgeable about what we as patients can expect.

Dr Lin was very straight forward when speaking with me. He explained the procedure in full detail to me and let me know what to expect and what not to expect. I was very impressed with is knowledge and demeanor. Although I have an HMO I was also told that they will continue to follow my care well after the surgery. I just can't express how much I was impressed with Dr Lin and his staff. My Overallrating would be Outstanding thus far.

I liked Dr. Paul Lin. Everyone in his office was so caring and understanding of my needs. He is located one block from metro station. Parking in the building was $15 for a little over 2 hrs.(This is based on consultation. I will update after surgery.)

Dr Lin was wonderful. I met with another Dr in his practice first, then Dr Lin came in. He was not rushed and very positive in his manner with me.rnrn He was very open with how the surgery would go, that if he ran into problems with the Lap, it would be open with no hesitation on his part. He was upfront with what my expectations should be with the whole surgery. The thing I really liked was that he explained his reasonings with everything he told me. rnrnHis staff has been very helpful with any question or problem i might have. I have my final pre-op appt on Oct 2nd.

Dr.Lin was very plesant and nice as well as his assistant. He explained everything to me in the fullest and was very patient with any questions I had and anything that I didn't understand. At one point we weren't on the same page as of what surgery percedure he thought would be best for me but he picked that up and led me in the right direction by explaining to me about the laparoscopic insted of lap band which I thought he was talking about. In all I felt very comfortable with him.I would like to say he has very pleasant staff every time I call I'm satisfied with the response I receive.

Dr. Lin is very nice. He took the time to answer all of my questions. He's very thorough and will be sure to look for things that need to be checked out before your surgery so that you can have the safest surgery possible.

The office staff is good. The office area is average. He does have an aftercare program, but I haven't been to it yet. Dr. Lin went over all of the risks with me and made sure that I don't have unrealistic expectations. He stresses that you have to use the surgery as a tool and how successful you are is up to you.

I liked his bedside manner and he is an excellent surgeon. I feel very safe with him performing my operation.
