My main impression of Dr. L. is that he's a professional. Not particularly warm and fuzzy but supremely confident and competent. He clearly knew what he was doing and was on top of everything. Julie in the office is very knowledgeable and will answer any question you have. My surgical experience was pretty much perfect in the sense that everything happened as it should with no complications or drama. The only feedback I'd give is that it feels like it's a very busy office and the vibe is sometimes one of 'too much on their plate'. Everything gets done and well. Very professional. I just hope the staff gets the occasional vacation. They deserve it. Overall, I give my surgical experience and A.
I was very impressed with Dr. Lutrzkowski. From the moment we met I had every confidence that he would be able to transform my life.He is an articulate man and and expert in his field.rnrnHe stopped by every day (even on the weekend) to check in on me. He answered all my questions . The more I see Dr. L. the more I like him. In fact, I loved him so much, I sent my husband to Dr. L so he could also have the DS!rnrnHe has a strict aftercare program to follow which is easy to follow.rnrnI am very happy that I chose Dr. L.rnrn
Dr. Lutrzykowski is an amazing person. He truely cares about his patients and gives great quality care. He is a perfectionist according to the nurses and they are very attentive because they know that he will be there to make sure that you have the best care. He is very thourough and eductates you about the risks and complications that can happen after this kind of surgery. There is no one else that compares to his quality of care. I have to say that I would do it all over again as long as I had Dr. L. as my surgeon! I would recommend him to anyone going through this journey. He is an excellent surgeon!
Dr. L is very professional, to the point and dedicated to his practice. He doesn't mince words and tells it like it is. He's also very easy going and puts you at ease....so long as you are doing what's expected of you. He doesn't like complacency, and is pretty strict with what his expectations are of your diet pre and post op. One of the nurses told me he can be \"difficult\" to work with, at the same time she told me there isn't another Dr. at Crittenton more on top of their patients. He comes to see you everyday you are in the hospital, whether or not its the weekend. On a scale of 1-10, definately a 10, and definately better than any Dr. we've dealt with up here.
When I first met Dr. L I was very nervous that he would refuse to do my surgery because I have been refused before my other surgeons because of my blood clotting issues, but, this was not a concern for Dr.L because he assured me that ge trreats all of his patients pre-op and post-op with heparin. Which was a great relief and he told me all about the DS surgery and I was listening but not quite because I was sure he was going to refuse me. I kept asking and he said he will do my surgery. I was so excited and well, Julie was great, very nice lady. We drove from Bethany, ON to bloomfield Hills at midnight and the weather was crappy and my husband drove and we arrived 2 hours early for my consult(January 22/07) and Julie got me in early and was so nice about it. I was given all the pre-op post-op papers and surgery was to ASAP but due to my previous surgery of VBG in 1991 and reversal in 1996 due to major strictures, vomitting you name it. Dr. L needed to see the anatomy of my stomach and of course because it is covered in Ontario they would not approve to have it done in USA. So, I was refereed to a GAstroenterologist in Peterborough and he is booked solid until October 2007 and I was put as urgent and my consult with Dr. Chan was April 18th/07 and then you usually have the scope a month after the consult which would take me into the end of May/07 and then surgeray woould be in June sometime of this year. Then today I got great news from Julie. I got approved for the surgery only waited 3 weeks. So, I decided to call Dr. CHan's office and talked to Lynn and told her I was approved and she was so excited for me. SHe has me booked next weeek (March 14th/07) to have aconsult with Dr. Chan and she said the following week I will probably have my scope done (March 21/07) I was ready to burst I was so excited. I agin talked to JUlie and we are looking at surgery for the week of April 9th/07. I can hardly wait. Julie has always remained in touch with me and I appreciate that very much. What a wonderful group of professionals in that office.
I just loved Dr. Lutrzykowski and his staff, I felt completely at ease with him and his abilities. After meeting him I never once questioned wether he was the right surgeon for me between his impressive credentials and his awesome bedside manner I knew I was in perfect hands. I have never liked having male Dr's and I like surgeons even less because of their usually brusque hurried manner but I immediatly took to Dr. L who is not like any other surgeon I have met and that to me said a lot.
I was immediately put at ease after meeting Dr. L. I was nervous walking into his office, probably from not knowing what to expect but those feelings quickly left. He went over the surgery in detail, asked me why I chose DS over RNY and said that I had chose the DS for the right reasons. He answered all of our questions thoroughly and spent a great deal of time with us going through all of my paperwork thoroughly. His staff is great! Very friendly, welcoming and easy to talk to.
I thought Dr. Lutrzykowski was great. He was very well spoken and very precise about explaining everything. I thought I knew everything there was to know about the DS but he taught me a few things I wasn't aware of.rnHe really enforces the need to be compliant after surgery and provided me with lots of written information about post-op care. rnHis bedside manner while he examined me was the best I've seen of any doctor, he was jovial and chatty, treated me like a person, not just a patient. rnHis office staff were friendly, accomodating, organized and professional. rnI have only good things to say about the whole experience. rn
