He looks like Dieter, the euro-techno talkshow host on Schprokets, a SNL skit. And I totally appreciate his down to earth, open, communicative style. He appreciated my sense of humor, which gets worse when I am nervous, and seemed very at home with himself. Julie, his gal Friday, seems quite competent and efficient. The office was fully equipped and he was unhurried, yet, intentional in getting me educated, examined and prepped for what I needed to do next. I attended the aftercare support group, and dislike the largely impersonal nature of it. I would prefer that we have a large meeting and then break off into smaller groups of six to eight. I investigated and interviewed several other physicians and their staff. I had to be sure I had the right surgeon for me, since I will be committing 2 years of my life with this person. I am pretty sure I made the right choice.

55-24-00 I am now 7 days post op. Dr. Lutrzykowski was wonderful. He is a mother hen about compliance, but it is really for our own good. He was brisk, thorough and very informative every step of the way. He provided excellent pain management, didn't "dump" me to the resident physician, but saw me everyday. I feel I did so well because he was trustworthy and I was able to turn myself over to doing exactly what he wanted me to do. I do not feel that way about all physicians. He is very well educated on the psychosocial aspects of morbid obesity, as well as the medical/surgical aspects and a very rationale thinker. I appreciate that in a physician.

Dr. Lutrzykowski is the best
I can't say enough about him.
He is by far the most caring
doctor that I have ever been to.
His office staff Julie is the greatest
His aftercare program is great.
I attend supprt group meetings
twice a month, and have regular doctors appointments
Dr. Lutrzykowski explained very well
the risks of surgery. Overall I would rate my
experience with the doctor as being
great. His surgical competence
and bed side manner are by far the best of any doctor that I have ever been to.

I had my first meeting with Dr. Lutryzkowski in Feb. 2000. A friend who has had the LGDS surgery highly recommended him. I found him to be very friendly and informative. He was willing to answer any questions that I had. He also reassured the friend I had taken with me for moral support. He currently has only one office person who is quite competent. I understand that he just broke his affiliation with Bloomfield Bariatrics and moved into new offices. I guess that explains why his office looked pretty sparse. Dr. L. insists on a mandatory 2-year aftercare program. It is required that you have bone density exams yearly and scheduled visits with Dr. L. himself at regular intervals. Dr. L. has a packet that he sends to those inquiring which addresses all aspects of the surgery, including the possible risks. He did emphasize that for our appointment just prior to surgery he wanted to me to bring the person he would be dealing with post-surgery so that he could address any questions. Overall I think Dr. L. is wonderful and I feel very confident putting my life in his capable hands.

Heard from a patient Dr. was not "warm & fuzzy" but an EXCELLENT surgeon. I don't care too much about warm & fuzzy over technical competence.

Saw Dr. at two of his support meetings prior to meeting with him to discuss surgery. Have found him to be very knowledgable and "warm" enough for me.

Checked with State Board of Medicine to confirm licensure and he has no complaints/suits/etc. against him. Feel that's a good sign.

Dr. emphasizes following aftercare instructions religiously and attending support group, which I feel are both great things. I have met some terrific people at the group meetings, as well as obtained excellent info and have seen how the doctor wants to ensure things go well for us afterward.

Will update after pre-surgery meeting with Doctor.

Dr. Lutrzykowski made me feel very comfortable. He spent as much time with me as I needed him to, and answered every question I had. He has a support meeting for his patients every other week and requires you to go to at least one before your surgery. It was very comforting to meet with his other patients. I was very satisfied with Dr. Lutrzykowski, and would recommend him to everyone.
