My first appointment with the Dr. was a very informational meeting. I liked him right away. He is a very warm & friendly person, and will take the time to answer any questions that you may have.

His staff Julie, and Kim have been very helpful in get my information for my surgery coming up in October.

Dr. Lutrzykowski has a two year aftercare program that you are required to attend. He has different speakers that come in. I have attended some the meetings and they are very informative.

Dr. Lutrzykowski explained all the risks of surgery, and ask if I had any questions?

As of today I would rate Dr. Lutrzykowski #10
on a scale of 1-10

I think that surgical competence, and bedside manner makes a good doctor.

My impression of Dr. L was positive from the beginning and only became more so as time went on. He was caring, direct, imformative and yet very gentle. His office staff, Julie and Kim are very helpful and kind.

Dr. L scheduled a meeting that included me and members of my family where the the procedure was discussed along with all the possible risks. There was nothing left unanswered.

Dr. L has the most wonderful bedside manner, continues to be supportive and concerned. He had emphasized from the beginning how important the aftercare program was and continues to do so.

For as long as I fought the insurance company to have this surgery and for how much I wanted to have this surgery I was still scared to go under the knife, but I must tell you that Dr. L made my fears almost disappear. I just knew I was in the best of hands even though the surgery is over I continue to be in the best care possible. I highly recommend Dr. L, as a matter of fact I just can't imagine why anyone would go elsewhere. To be honest I have nothing negative to say. Up to this point there hasn't been any problem.

He is an extremely intense and determined individual. He is NOT going to let anything go wrong you can feel it. He has an extreme sense of urgency of your knowledge of the future not only understanding it but if you don't live it he will not operate on you. He makes this very clear. He tells you flat out. You can die. But he'll bet you the weight kills you first.I see him as an outstanding 10+ I have not had my surgery yet but his following is enormous and his past patients just have nothing but encouraging things to say. And as for me I don't really care about bedside manners although they are nice I would much rather prefer to live through it from a better surgeon. But from what I have seen and heard he has both.

Don't wait this is the guy!!!

Dr. Lutrzykowski is a very nice man. He has a wealth of information to offer regarding the surgery. He does remind you of Deter from Sprockets(Saturday Night Live)and at times I had some difficulty understanding. I thought Dr. Lutrzykowski was saying that there would be a problem but no..no..no.. not a problem just could not understand him. I was not in the mood for another problem after fighting with HAP and also the most unpleasant experience with the staff at another Bariatric office. I had my first visit with Dr. Lutrzykowski on 03-08-01 which was very informative. I was relieved to have some rumors dispelled and my husband like the doc also. My surgery will be scheduled for April. I will have an a date by next week. Julie and Kim are very kind and helpful and an asset to Dr. Lutrzykowsi. I am now grateful for the problems that I had at the other surgeon's office because now I know I have the better of the surgeons performing the Duodenal Switch procedure.

I met Dr. Lutrzykowski on 9/5/00 for my consult. He was very nice - I felt comfortable with him right away. Julie - his office staff - was very nice also. He spent a lot of time explaining the surgery and also the difference between the surgery he preforms and that of Dr. Poplawski of BTC. (I had a consult with him on 8/14/00). I have also attended a group meeting on 9/18/00. He is having trouble with the hospital - political stuff - but he is still focused on us patients who are in desparate need of his help. He emphasizes aftercare enormously. Sometimes it is difficult to understand him, but if you listen carefully you can understand every word he says. He is very truthful about the risks, this is major surgery and yes you could die. You could also die from being morbid or super-morbidly obese as well. I have only met him on two occasions, and don't have alot to base my opinion of him on, but I think he is very competant and genuinely concerned for his patients. UPDATE!!!! 1/31/01 I am now 228 that is 76.5 lbs lost in 15 weeks. I feel wonderful, went from size 30/32 to a 18/20! Wah Hoo! I am so greatful for Dr. Lutryzkowski for saving my life!

Dr. Lutrzykowski was very willing to answer any questions I had regarding the procedure. I scheduled my surgery the same day and I am very happy with my choice. He has a 2 year follow up program that requires out of pocket money, but it will be worth it I'm sure. Sometimes insurance will reimburse you that money as well, but I don't think bc/bs does. His staff was very nice and made me feel very welcome. Also, I met some post-op patients when I was there and they too were very willing to answer any questions I might have. Dr. Lutrzykowski didn't try to hide anything or surgar coat anything. He was to the point which is good because when you are having major life altering surgery that's the last thing you want.

I met Dr Lutrzykowski and his staff on 10/10/00........i had a little wait which was ok because i WANT this surgery....There was one other patient there and to look at her i wouldn't think that she was ever MO!...she shared her story with me and it was great.. the office staff were nice and polite they handled my paper work quickly apologized for my wait (which wasn't that long,really!)........When i had the consult part of my visit with Dr Lutrzykowski he went over everything from A to Z and did not minch words about the risk factors... I would recommend him to a friend or family member considering the surgery overall I like Dr Lutrzykowski and his staff although again i didn't ask many questions they never gave me the impression of being overworked or rushed if that's a good way of putting it, or maybe a better way of putting it is your time with the Dr and staff is one of Quality be it a few min or hrs..........at this point i have nothing negative to say about Dr Lutrzykowski

Very caring person and knows how to speak to a person. I only grew to love this man and his caring ways. Being there for you at any hour of the day or night. Would go out on a limb for you. Went with me to my (even though he was already paid in full )arbitration meeting with the insurance company and spoke with the group and i know if it weren't for him i would have never won my case. He let them know just the way it is even though there was only one medical person at the meeting. He spoke and they listened. He cares and there is no two ways about it. he holds his own meetings every other week and can not stress the aftercare enough. Whether it be meetings, supplements, calcium, keeping in touch, blood work ,vitamins ,and support groups. He also has had many different speakers visit our meetings. Physch, endo, nutritionist, anatheisiologist, etc. He has saved my life and that of many others. who hold the same respect for him as I do. His competency, bed side manner and the aftercare is the best that i have ever seen and I am a nurse and know that there are not that many doctors out there that really do care. and not in it for just the almighty dollar. Dr. Lut is the best and is the only surgeon i would recommend.. Too bad he can't be in all the states so he could help all of you who need him. He is a GOD-SEND!!!! No, i do not have any negative comments and yopu feel this review is less informative or suspect I'm terribly sorry because like i stated I have no negative comments. He also addressed the risks of this surgery with my family and told them the way it was. I had eleven commomorbidities and yes, i could die! this operation is not to be taken lightly. It is big-time surgery and I had it (main reason was to save my life.) Sure, I look great but more than anything else, i feel terrific. No more insulin, no more hypertensive drugs, no more pain killers for my arthritis, no more diuritics, no more high cholestrol drugs, no more anti-depression pills and many, many, more years of life that I can share with my family, friends and specially my beautiful two little grandsons. Thank-you again and again Dr. Lut. Fay Bruder My personal impressions and experience with this part of my life. L I F E !!!!

My first impression of Dr. Lutrzkowski was very positive. We (my mom and I) spent an hour in his office as he explained the surgery and how it compared to other wls procedures. I found him to be sincere, and very empathetic to my mom's obvious concerns. He explained the technical aspects of the surgery in terms we could understand, and was realistic about weight loss results of the super morbid obese.

His office staff consisted only of Julie his assistant, yet things did not appear chaotic, and I have always gotten prompt responses to my phone calls.

He has a two-year after care program that consists of follow ups (at regular intervals) as well as attendance to bi-weekly support group meetings.
