My first impression of Dr. Houston is that he is very committed to the treatment of obesity.
My appointment was at 200pm, however, I arrived early and Holly took us in early. I was very impressed about the fact that I did not have to wait. Holly Parsons is a very friendly person and seems to be very compassionate about patients.
Dr. Houston strongly stressed the importance of aftercare.
The complete weight loss program is well organized and addresses most aspects of weight loss.
I liked Dr. Houston and Holly and I would recommend them to any of my friends.

My first impression of Dr. Houston (pronounced howston) was of a gentle kind man who has a kind heart and gentle soul. Dr. Houston spoke with me and my male companion with up most respect and with excellent knowledge of the surgery I have asked for. He was very understanding to all I had to say and he listened carefully to my desires for the surgery. He ask questions of your knwoledge of what the surgery is be it Lap Band or R and Y. He also makes sure you have knowledge of what the number one killers are in american today. His staff are very kind and very respectful towards you. Miss Holly his assisstant is a beautiful woman with a kind heart and gentle soul as well and everyone makes you feel welcomed and makes you feel like you have known them for years. I would tell future patients to use Dr Houston because he is such a kind man and there are not many doctors out there today who have a kind heart and gentle soul and who actully cares about you as a human being. He does emphasize that you follow the after care by the book so that it will help you and your health in the future. He does have a after care program as well and will tell you all about it and as well he will let you know who you need to see to continue a good aftercare and good healthy body. He does address to you the risk of the surgery and I do highly recommend this doctor to anyone who is looking for a wonderful doctor. If his first impression is so wonderful then I expect his bed side manner be of a respectful one as well. What terrific man God created when he made the ANGEL called Dr. Houston...Thank You GOd....

5-24-05 I am a year and half out my surgery. When I went into surgery I was 298 pounds and now I am 120. My clothes were anywhere from a size 26-28 now it is a size 4. Dr Houston and his staff (Holly especially) are exceptional. I had no second guessing on the surgery. The aftercare that you receive is just as important. Dr Houston makes sure that you get that as well. There is not a scale out there big enough to rate Dr. Houston. He is truly the top pick out of everyone.

My first impression of Dr.Houston was he was very friendly. He was straight to the point. His nurse Holly is very nice it seems if I have known her forever. Dr.Houston described all the diffrent types of surgeries avaliable. He discussed all the risks of surgery. He has a great bedside manner. I rate Dr.Houston a 10.

Being a lawyer, I am naturally skeptical about certain situations and I had my questions typed out and ready to ask at my first visit with Dr. Houston. Not only did he answer every one, but he did so before I could ask some of them. He was funny and very nice but was extremely concerned that I did not take this decision lightly. He emphasized aftercare at the first meeting, while I was in the hospital, when I was discharged and even on the phone the day I was released.
He personally returned phone calls shortly after messages were left and he addressed all my concerns. Holly was wonderful and very concerned about my understanding of the process and most of my calls and e-mails were returned within the day I sent them.
Overall I would say that Dr. Houston is comitted to his patients, his practice and his desire to make beautiful people even more beautiful (making their outsides match their insides)! I have complete confidence in his surgical competence and his bedside manner was superb. He won't let you get away with much! While this was my own, personal experience with Dr. Houston, I found him to be an amazing Doctor and while I am sure he has his faults, because he is human, I have not been on the receiving end of any of them (and this is coming from a lawyer!!!). Thanks Dr. Houston!

NO ONE COULD ASK FOR A BETTER DR. AND NURSE....VERY CONCERNED WITH HEALTH OF PATIENT AND SPOUSE. HE STRESSES HOW VERY IMPORTANT AFTERCARE AND FOLLOW THRU ON MY PART IS....HE ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS AND HAD AND WONDERFUL CARING BESIDE MANNER TO BOOT. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE CONSIDERING GASTRIC BYPASS. HOLLY (HIS NURSE) IS THE MOST CARING, SWEETEST, AND PROFESSIONAL NURSE I HAVE EVER MET. SHE TELLS YOU THAT YOU ARE "ONE OF THE FAMILY" NOW THAT YOU ARE A PATIENT...AND YOU WILL BE FAMILY FOR LIFE.....GOD BLESS BOTH OF THEM !!!!!!

I have only met Dr. Houston at my initial consultation but my initial impression was one of professionalism and genuine concern. He explained to me in detail all my options and answered fully all my questions. His personality and attitude was very calming and comforting, I feel very confident in his abilities and am very pleased he will be doing my surgery. He cam highly recommended by personal friends who have had bariatric surgery!

dr houston is very pleasant, knowledgeable, and pleasant.
I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT THIS OF HIM. NOW I KNOW THIS TO BE THE TRUTH
HIS OFFICE IS HELPFUL BRIGHT, PLEASANT AND FRIENDLY

I HAVE NOT YET FOUND ANYTHING I DISLIKE ABOUT HIM OR HIS STAFF

HE IS A VERY UNDERSTANDING DOCTOR AND IS WILLING TO LISTEN BUT HE WILL NOT "BABY THEM"
THE SURGERY IS YOUR DECISION AND HE WILL PERFORM IT. BUT YOU CAN'T JUST SIT BACK AND
GET SKINNY.
THERE ARE SCHEDULED VISITS WITH THE OFFICE,
HIM, DIETICIAN, THE FOLLOW UP BLOOD TESTS, AND THE PT PERSON. ALL OF THESE PEOPLE ARE IN THE SAME BUILDING.
OVERALL I WOULD RATE DR HOUSTON, AND HIS STAFF 110%. I AM THOROUGHLY HAPPY I HAD HIM DO IT. IT WAS DONE BY LAZAR THE RECOVERY TIME WAS VERY SHORT. AND AT 6 MONTHS I HAVE
LOST 103 LBS OF THE 166 I WANT TO LOSE.
HIS SURGICAL COMPETENCE IS BEYOND REPROACH BUT HIS BEDSIDE MANNER IS ALSO GREAT. THE ONLY NEGATIVE COMMENT IS HE IS STRICT ABOUT THE POST SURGERY DIET. BUT HEALING WAS VERY EASY AND I WAS NOT SICK OR IN PAIN. THE ROUGHEST THING IS EGGS, TUNA FISH, CHICKEN, & TURKEY GOT BORING.

Dr. Houston was great! He took time to answer all of my questions and has a great bedside manner. Office staff was very sweet and accommodating. He was less experienced than some I researched, but he was very knowledgeable and was very surgically competent. I would recommend him to anyone considering gastric bypass.
