Very nice professional man who cares for his patients and wants the best for them. The staff are very friendly and helpful. He places strong emphasis on aftercare and support groups. There is a very structured aftercare program, Dr. Houston address all the risks and benefits of both lap band and gastric bypass. He is painfully honest, and this is what we ALL need. Everything about him has been great!
Dr. Houston is a wonderfully professional, caring man who sees what each individual patient needs. He saw from my previous surgeries: hernia, spleenectomy.. that he would be presented with some \"issues\"... but he didn't once flinch - he met those \"issues\" straight forward, and done the job! He prepared me for a possible open procedure, but with his terrific hands of skill, I didn't have to -which cut down on my recuperation time! I would send anyone to Dr. Houston... anyone that is who wanted the absolute best care they could get! That is Dr. Hugh Houston... and I am forever grateful to him for the new lease on life that through the Lord's mighty hand on his - he has given me that!rnrnHe even impressed my daddy... which I don't have to tell you girls out there - our daddies are pretty hard to impress when it comes to their daughters! But my husband, and parents were comforted knowing that this man was more than competent in doing what I needed done.
Dr. Houston impresses me as an extremely knowledgeable professional. He seems genuinely concerned and explained everthing in detail. The staff at his office has been extremely helpful and kind each time we have contacted them. Compared to other experiences with hospitals and medical staff, this has been as pleasant an experience as you could expect.rnrnDr. Houston continues to express a real concern for my progress and has always answered every question I've posed to him. I really appreciate hiim.
I finally met with Dr. Houston and I was impressed with his knowledge, candor, and emphasis on aftercare. He was very straightforward without being offensive. Since my wife had gastric bypass four years ago, Dr. Houston knew that I had witnessed first-hand how the process works and the pitfalls involved if you don’t follow the instructions that they give you. I appreciated the fact that he didn’t talk down to me, but frankly addressed the concerns that I may have.rnrnHis office staff is wonderful and Holly did a great job of putting me at ease early on. I had heard wonderful things about everyone and they proved to be true!rn
Dr Houston was excellent. He was very professional when we first met him. He went over the surgery and all risk.so me and my could make an inform decision.rnThe staff was also very friendly and help with the long process of getting approved. I give him a96%.rnI did feel a little rush with him in the Hospital.rn
Dr. Houston is a wonderful surgeon who's main concern is the care & well being of his patients. He is very informative and will answer any questions that you might have. He is very upfront about the procedure that he is performing and is very adamant that his patients followup with aftercare. He has one of the nicest office staff that I know of. They are all really nice and will go out of there way to help you with any problems that you might have. rnrnI highly recommend Dr. Houston to anyone that is considering bariatric surgery. He is fantastic.
My first impression of Dr. Houston was that he was young and confident, which was what I expected. That is still my impression of him. He office staff is very nice and accomodating. The thing I like least about him is I think he could be a little warmer personally, but this is a very small criticism, since his straight forwardness is likely important in dealing with his patients. Aftercare is very important, and he stresses that in order to be successful, I have to participate in all aspects, including support groups. I think he explained the risks of surgery very well and I would rate him a 10 overall. His surigical competence is better than his bedside manner, but that works for me. I felt at ease going into the surgery and in my aftercare up to now
I just heard him at the seminar and loved him immediately! I haven't officially chosen him but that's who I'm going to choose when the time comes. rnrnJanuary 10, 2007rnHad my surgical consultation. He wore his \"serious doctor\" face. It scared me to death but I know that he has to be serious because this is a serious thing. It's not anything to take lightly! I still feel like he's the man for the job! No doubt!
I have friends who have the gastric bypass surgery with Dr. Hugh Houston. I have heard nothing but great things. I have attended his seminar twice in the past couple of years. I feel that he is super confident in what he does and i absolutely trust him to put my life in his hands. What more could you ask???
