The day before my surgery, my clinic called and told me that Dr. Jeff Baker could not do the surgery for at least a week due to an injury that occurred over the weekend. My clinic said that Dr. Johnson would be able to do the surgery if I approved and of course, I did. Dr. Johnson was just wonderful. Despite meeting him for the first time right before surgery, I felt very confident and assured that all would be well. Dr. Johnson was wonderful throughout the entire hospital stay - I felt very taken care of and all my questions were answered. I would highly recommend Dr. Johnson to others considering bypass surgery.

I met Dr. Jeff Baker for the first time on 2/14/05. He is very calming and I felt comfortable with him right away. Dr. Baker thoroughly explained everything in a manner that was easy to understand. And, best of all, he has an enjoyable personality! I'm looking forward to surgery on Tuesday, 2/22 and startin the journey.

I liked Dr. Johnson immediately. He was the surgeon who supervised my mom's cancer surgery.

His office staff is very helpful and on the ball (at least for me they have been, I have other friends who have been less than impressed with them).

Dr. Johnson is very caring and skilled at his trade. He's not an egomaniac my any means!

He and his staff emphasize aftercare quite a bit, but not in a way that makes you feel like a naughty kid.

Dr. Johnson's office does have an aftercare program, including on-site support group meetings.

The risks of surgery were fully explained and I was well informed and comfortable with my decision at all times.

I would give Dr. Johnson the highest rating. His surgical competence and bedside manner are both outstanding. He gave me all the credit for my success when I know I wouldn't be where I am today without his surgical talent!

Dr Johnson is the best! His true concern is about you. Fantastic man! His bedside manners were the top! I had some questions/concerns that I just couldn't understand. He took all the time I needed to explain it all to me. When he left that morning, I totally understood and had no doubts!

He checked in on me twice a day-early morning and late afternoon. When I went in for my one-week check-up, he remembered me, asked me about my concerns, etc.

I chose Fridley because of all the positive feedback I have researched. When I began this trek, I had no qualms about which doctor-I told them to pick me any one of them. I know that I made the best decision with Fridley and would ONLY recommend them. The hospital wing knows our post-op care. After hearing way too many patients from other hospitals with receiving 7-up right after surgery, full meals, and nurses not knowing how to care for the patients, I knew again, I had the best hospital & staff care!

The support group meetings once a month in Fridley are top-notch! I attended one in my home town and couldn't believe the disorganization. It will be a long time before I attend another one here, if ever. I'll drive the 1-1/2 hrs to attend the MN one. They have a set of rules to follow so that all the information is said and listened to!

My first impression of Dr. Johnson was that he was very sincere. He cares very much for his patients but it does make it clear that this is a lifetime change and you have to be truely committed to this before you make the final move. If there are any questions he will answer them and if you are scared for any reason...he will assure you that everything will be okay.

My first impression is that Dr. Johnson is a very caring man who genuinely wants to help people with weight problems. The office staff is wonderful, helpful, and reassuring where they need to be. They have a fairly strict preop and postop regimen, but only for your sake! I was given a list of complications possible. I'll let you know if I experience them!

When I first met Dr. Johnson I was at the informational meeting. He appeared very knowledgable. When my husband and I went to meet him face-to-face at my surgical consult I still feel the same way. He truly wants to make sure you are doing this for all the right reasons, and that you understand completely what will be happening to you. The staff at the Bariatric Center has all been wonderful. They were helpful from the start. They understand what you are going through because some of them have done the surgery on themselves. The emphasis on aftercare is HUGE. You are in this for the long hall, there is no turning back once the surgery is complete. I look at the aftercare program as a newborn's doctors visits. I am basically a reborn person, that needs special care initially and that will taper down!!! I would highly recommend Dr. Johnson to anyone and everyone. He is extremely skilled at what he does. My incision is barely 4 inches and it is healing very quick. His bedside manner, in my opinion, is very good. He seem excited to see me when he visited me in the hospital. He wanted to make sure I knew and understood what I would be doing to continue my recover at home. I had a wonderful experience and wouldn't trade it for the world. Thanks Dr. Johnson for caring so much about obesity and helping others.

Kind and caring, good humored. Knowledgeable, well trained, concerned about obesity issues and sensitive. The office staff is efficient and competent. His team's requirements both before and after surgery are strict and conservative, but effective--a primary consideration in choosing him. He makes it very clear that ultimately, our success with WLS is up to us and we'll get only from it what we are willing to put into it in the long term. After much involvement with medical personnel over the years due to children's health issues, I can be very skeptical about doctors and surgeons. However, I can truly say I cannot find fault with him in any way.

So far, I really like Dr. Johnson. He seemed personable and answered all of my questions. I feel good about having him as my surgeon. He really emphasized the aftercare program and how important it is. He also went over again the risks of having this surgery. He wasn't someone that was interested in only telling about the good things about surgery & rushing me to sign on the dotted line. He really wants to make sure you're prepared & that if you're not ready you wait a couple months. He didn't sugarcoat everything and I like that. I'll add more after my surgery!
