I met with Dr. Johnson this afternoon, and I my first impression is that he is very nice and personable. He seems very caring about his patients. He stressed the need for total commitment to this lifestyle change. He works with Dr. Baker of Mercy/Unity hospitals, so he also requires a 10% loss of excess weight before surgery. Office staff are wonderful and friendly, but sometimes the receptionist can sound irritated on the phone. Dr. Johnson and staff greatly emphasize aftercare, including many follow up visits and a support group. He talked about the risks of surgery, and they screen patients very well at every step of the process. I have not yet had my surgery, but so far, I would highly recommend Dr. Johnson and Dr. Baker.
