I really liked Dr. Johnson. He was very friendly and was willing to listen to all concerns and questions. His office staff was great always willing to help. I don't think there is anything I didn't like about him. He really let me know how important aftercare is and how this surgery is a tool NOT a complete solution. I will change my whole life.

Dr. Johnson seemed very friendly and thorough. I have heard great things about him and look forward to having him on my team!

The office staff is exceptional!

I believe that Dr. Baker and Dr. Johnson have one of the best programs in the country! They have great support staff and support groups in this area are wonderful. I couldn't do this without this team.

I thought he and his team were very informative.
Dr. Johnson's office staff is terrific, they are very helpful and very positive.
He emphasizes aftercare very much and wants to learn all of your materials by heart, this is your bible.
Dr. Johnson and Dr. Baker let us know about all the risks of surgery and answered any questions that we had.
I would give him a 10 rating out of 10.

My first impression of Dr. Johnson was that he was a caring soft spoken that haad my best interest at heart. He wants you to suceed and does not give you a rosier picture than it is. He does speak highly of WLS but keeps it in prospective with real life. His staff is patient with all of the questions and has always been very helpful. I have surgery on February 10, 2003 and I am sure that I will know more about him once surgery is complete. I have not had anything negative to report.

Dr Baker was very warm and easy to talk with.
Staff are very busy, but great.
Dr Johnson was also very warm and caring. He explained everything about the surgery and answered all my questions. I was able to get an appointment with Dr Johnson within a week to schedule my surgery date.

The office staff at Dr. Johnson's office has been nothing but nice. That makes it even nicer to have wonderful people helping you out!
Dr. Johnson went over everything and reinforced good material. He made sure you understtod what you were doing and asked repeatdly if you had any questions. He did not seem rushed or hurried and gave ample amount of time talking to me.

When I began my quest for WLS, my impression was initially of Dr. Baker. I wasn't aware of Dr. Johnson until the educational meeting. My first impression from the educational meeting (6/11/02) was that Dr. Baker was kind and understanding and extremely well-qualified and experienced. At the consult (8/13/02), Dr. Baker was very pleasant and seemed concerned for me. He explained why I need to lose more weight pre-operatively and checked my muscle tone on my stomach. He said it's not all fat, but that the muscle wall has been stretched out to accommodate my weight. While losing 40# before surgery seems now to be somewhat daunting, he said he has no doubt that I can do it and that this would be really life-changing.

His office staff is extremely friendly. I met with Diane (R.N.) who was very nice. It is so nice to go somewhere and not be looked at with disgust. When taking my "before" pictures I joked that I should hold up numbers for my "mug shot" and she said, "Dawne, you're not a number here." That was so encouraging.

October 11, 2002. Just found out that my insurance is approved and that I've been assigned to Dr. Baker's new partner, Dr. Frederick Johnson. I have an appointment with him on Wednesday, October 16th at 3:00 p.m. to have a consult and to get my surgery date. I'll let you know my impressions of Dr. Johnson after I meet him.

Dr. Frederick Johnson has a long history of surgery at unity. He actually came from my primary clinic Columbia Park Medical Group in Fridley and has been a surgeon for many years. I also know woman who worked at the clinic and recommend Dr. Johnson for previous surgerys. They would say go with Johnson , Johnson is the best surgeon , he is the nicest and the most caring and the smartest. People would recommend him over many good surgeons so he must be the best!!!
Well after meeting him, I saw what my frineds were saying about this surgeon. He was so nice and caring. I have had surgery before and I had that sence of trust in him, do you know that feeling?? well I have that with him and that makes me comfortable about the whole WLS, to have that felling like you are in good hands! :o)RACH

WLS- 10/15/02 with Dr. Johnson

My first impression of Dr Johnson was he is a genuine man. He is very upfront, and will not hesitate to tell you about the risks, complications of this procedure. He willnot do it without your meeting him first, so he can talk to you to be sure you know and understand again what you are getting into, and what to expect every step of the way.
He goes over each step from pre and post op, what to do, what to expect, makes sure all your questions are answered, and takes his time, He didnt rush me at all. I think that if I had wanted, he would have sat there with me the entire day talking, without hesitation or flinching. He showed compassion, and empathy, and further reinforced my trust in him and his staff.
For me i think surgical competence is more important than bedside manner, because without a competant surgeon, you will not have need for bedside manner cause you wouldnt be there. But I think Dr. Johnson staff will provide both. but I will let you know after I experiance it.
