I really like Dr. Rodriguez! He seem very enthusiastic about helping obese people. I can't wait to have the surgery. He was very knowledgeable. I have been approved by Aetna and will have surgery Dec. 1st, 2004.

I this his short but sweet. To the point based on facts. No not yet, don't misunderstand he is friendly. The could be a little more organized. But overall they are okay. I'd care for more interation on a one to one. He is direct but very informative. As the key to a sucessful life. Yes, very much so. I think he is a 10.

Dr. Dirk Rodriguez, and his staff a very sensitive to obesity. They educate their patients first. He is very direct and to the point. He will tell you that this is not a cake walk and is only willing to perform your surgery if you are willing to participate. His staff will educate you with all (good & bad) facts about surgery. They stress AFTERCARE and he you will have a nutritionlist. Expect to be asked to have a pshyc. evaluation. Dr. does this so they know best how to evaluate progress or lack of progress. Also to determmine if you have realistic expectaions and understanding. I feel that this part of the process is very neccessary. There were patients in my orientation group I as health professional would question their abiliy to follow the guidelines neccessary to be successful. I have not had my surgery, I have 20 days. After my orientation, and experience thus far with the approval proccess I would give them an 8 on a scale from 1-10 10 being the best. The reason for not giving a 10 would be that I would like to get a person on the phone more often than I have. I do not care for phone prompts.

Overall..I am very pleased with Dr. Rodriquez, he is polite, informative, professional, displays a great bedside manner, takes charge, does not beat around the bush and he is very handsome and appears to be in good health himself.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Rodriguez. He is very knowledgable, and
very paitent.

I still feel the same. Nothing has changed.

At first I had a little problem with one of the ladies, because she made me feel like I was getting on her nerves. I was having some problems getting my disability papers back, because the Dr. was very busy. I called every other day to see if they were ready, because my job was really bugging me about getting them turned in. Now it's much better, because I kind of know when to call if I have a question. I know that they are very busy, and I can respect that they are human and get tired just like everyone else.

There is nothing that I don't like about Dr. Rodriguez!!!, but I only wish that he will be able to get back insurance disability forms faster. Being able to get these forms turned in to your job, means being able to get paid while you are off work. There is nothing worse than being layed up sick, and bill collectors calling.

He is a no non-sense Dr. He will get on you about not doing what you are suppose to do, which is very good, because why go through all that you have to go through, if you are not going to take care of yourself and do what you know you have to do to make this work.

He stresses if every time I see him.

Yes, we call it our after care bible.

He talked to me one on one about the risks of the surgery, plus it is written in your folder.

On a scale of 1-10, I give him a 10+.

Both, which is what Dr. Rodriguez has.

Dr. Rodriguez is a very stern guy. His office staff is very nice and helpful. If your not serious about losing weight then hes not the doctor you want. They are very goal oriented and want nothing but a great outcome for you. They help you every step of the way. He's a great doctor.

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR RODRIGUEZ I WAS VERY NERVOUS TO MEET HIM, BUT HE MADE ME FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE ONCE HE STARTED THE CONSULTATION. I FIRST HEARD OF HIM ON FROM A STORY THEY DID ABOUT HIM ON TV,I KEPT HIM IN MIND WHEN I DECIDED TO GET THE SURGERY I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH HIS WEBSITE AND HIS EXPERIENCE WITH WLS. HIS STAFF WORKS WELL TOGETHER AND YOLONDA WAS VERY NICE EVERYTIME I CALLED,ALTHOUGH I HAD TO LEAVE MESSAGE AFTER MESSAGE FOR MELVA TO FINALLY RETURN MY CALL THEY STILL HANDLED MY CASE IN A TIMELY MANNER, I WAS VERY SATISIFIED. AT THIS TIME I CANNOT SAY WHAT I LEAST LIKED ABOUT DR ROD BECAUSE HE WAS VERY DOWN TOO EARTH AND NICE. DR ROD IS CONCERNED ABOUT THE WELL BEING OF HIS PATIENTS,HE WANTS THE SURGERY TO BE A SUCCESS AS MUCH AS THE PATIENT.HE STRESSES THE AFTERCARE OF THE SURGERY AND HE EVEN MAKES YOU SIGN A CONTRACT TO DO YOUR PART. HE WANTS HIS PATIENTS TO UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS NOT A QUICK FIX,AND THAT YOU HAVE TO MAKE A MAJOR LIFESTYLE CHANGE. HIS AFTERCARE IS VERY STRUCTERED, THEY SET UP APPOINTMENTS FOR YOU TO SEE HIM,A PSYCHOLOGIST,SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS,AND THEY EVEN OFFER MEMBERSHIP TO AN EXERCISE FACILITY. HE IS ALSO VERY DETAILED AND UP FRONT ABOUT THE RISKS OF THE SURGERY, EVERYTHING IS IN BLACK AND WHITE FOR YOU TO READ, BUT HIS STAFF ALSO GOES OVER EVERYTHING WITH YOU BEFORE THE SURGERY AND THEY ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS YOU HAVE DURING THE SEMINAR. SO FAR I WOULD RATE DR ROD AND HIS STAFF A 9.

My first impression of Dr. Rodriguez was that he was very straight forward. He exudes a very confident demeanor that is comforting. His nurse Karen is very personable and didn't make anyone feel like they asked a stupid question.Yolanda and Melva are nice and seem to know their jobs very well. They made me feel like I was very thorough in my record-gathering.I believe Dr. Rodriguez truly wants you to obtain a better quality of life, which shows he cares. He and his staff addressed EVERY risk of the surgery, which reiterates the ramifications of not following the program. I do trust this man with my life.

My first impression was that he is there for me. He is serious about what he does, yet made me feel comfortable with the procedure.

His staff is knowledgeable and caring. They are experts at what they do.

What I liked least about him was that there is nothing to like least about him. As far as the experience goes, I had to wait 1/2 hour past my follow-up appointment time to see him, but that's fine because he spends the time it takes with me as well.

There is a structured aftercare program of follow-up meetings with the doctor as well as support groups meetings.

The risks of surgery were explained and not sugar coated. It's a serious surgery and it was presented that way.

My rating for Dr. Rod is a "9", but that's only because there are no perfect people! :D

Surgical competence comes first, but then the bedside manner gives the perception of competence. They are both equally important.
