I was very impressed with Dr. Boe upon meeting him and have remained such through all of our follow up visits. He treats his patients with compassion and seems to stand on the same ground we do. He is extremely talented at what he does and has a personality to rival his ability.
This man knows what he's doing and does it well. I would recommend him to everyone I know interested in wls.

My first impressions of him were very good. He's friendly, nice and seems really down to earth. LOL and it helps that he knows and grew up in the area i am from. My impression of him hasn't changed in the slightest. He has very friendly, thorough(sp)staff, who took the time to actually explain the questions to me, and answered any questions i had. He addressed any risks that are apart of this as well as any surgery. He did tell me that if i were to go with the open RNY that there is a higher risk of death 5%, and with the Lap RNY the risk is only 1%. I would rate him overall on a scale of 1-10 an 10. Both surgical competence and bedside manner are both very important aspects, and i believe that he a very competent doctor. The only bad thing is when i faxed over my info, it never went through and i had to mail it, but i called and kept getting told that the machine was working.

That's just my opinion

I really liked Dr Boe. I liked the fact he let me speak and let him know how much I know and have educated myself on this major life decision. I never felt like he was talking down to me. He seems to have a great bedside manor and I like how he said even when I leave the hospital him and I will be in contact frequently, and that if I have any questions or concerns not to hesitate to call. He is out of the Barix clinic in Belvidere IL. Kind of distant to home, but I want an expert. Everyone seems very nice there.

I met with Brian and he was very personable. He answered all of my questions. He was very nice and took interest in me, my life, and my decision to have surgery. After researching him and his extensive experience with this type of surgery, I am confident that he will be the best choice.

Pre-Op: My first impression of Dr. Boe overall was very positive. He was very professional and easy to talk to. He answered all of my questions in regard to the different types of procedures and risks involved with all so that I would be making an informed decision. I really cannot think of anything negative to say. He has a very like-able personality.

Dr Boe is the best! He has the best bedside manner I have ever seen. Especially for a surgeon. In my first consultation, he was completely honest with me and answered all my questions, no matter how stupid. I absolutely adore him and the staff at the Barix Clinic/Northwest Suburban Hospital in Belvidere. They are knowledgeble, helpful, supportive and really care.
They are very big on after care, explaining everything. And your given a huge book that explains what you should eat and when and how much etc... I call it my new "bible". I probably look at it 10 times a day.
On another note, Dr. Boe is also very nice on the eyes! ; )

Dr, Boe seemed competent and friendly. He seems very experienced and comfortable in his role as a bariatric surgeon. His staff seemed well informed as well. I did have a sight glitch with my initial consultation. I did not receive the packet of info regarding my insurances pre-authorization requirements, however I had reserched these prior to the consultation and proceeded without it in order to get things going. When I called them to ask about not receiving the pack they were more than happy to mail them. Dr. Boe seems to have an outstanding reputation with his patients and the large number of comments concerning him are overwhelming. Maybe this is due to this is all he does? His consultation was very informative and direct. I also enjoyed his sence of humor.
