Terrific.rnStill believe is he a great surgeon.rnHelpful, concerned and thoughtful.rnNothing.rnHe is dedicated to assisting you with having and maintaining your weight loss.rnVery much. Check ups are very important.rnSet down with me and discussed all the pros and cons of any surgery. All have their risks, so he didn't 'sugar-coat it'.rnMy hat is off to him, he is an expert at what he does. I guess the only negative I can say about Dr. Boe is that he had to move away for Penn. Wish he was practicing near me now.rnBoth are really important. You can have all the 'book' sense in the world. But quite something else to have 'common' sense. Definitely Dr. Boe has it!rn
My husband,Joe and I were very impressed with his friendly personality.I appreciated the way he described the surgery, and aftercare.I felt very much at ease about the surgery after talking with him. He's very professional, yet talks to you,and not over you.He answered all of our questions, and let us know that if we had more to call and ask.My impression has not changed. He's proven that he's still willing to help in any way.I called the clinic about 1 month after surgery.I was worried about my incision. He said \"Come in,and I'll see you tomorrow between surgeries\".That told me alot about his commitment to care for his patients.
Post surgery.... Ok... Dr. Boe... hands down the best surgeon ever. He is terrific. Kind. Thorough. Funny. Just overall GREAT!!! He makes you feel like you are his only patient. That every struggle you have is his own. I would recommend him in a heart beat to anyone even considering surgery!rnrnDr. Boe was so kind. He has the best bedside manner I have ever seen with a doctor (and I have worked for a lot of doctors!). The Barix Center was beautiful, clean and peaceful. I knew as soon as I walked through the front door that this would be the place I would have my procedure. Dr. Boe took a ton of time to explain everything... pre op, surgery, post op, complications, EVERYTHING. He put my sister and I at ease.
Dr. Boe is an amazing Doctor and the sweetest guy ever. I drove 4 hours to have him as my Doctor and I live 17 minutes away from a University hospital that does the surgery. Dr. Boe is So worth it! rnA+, 10 out of 10, 5 stars!!! You won't regret having him as your Doctor, I sure haven't. I miss seeing him at my yearly appts. He is such a sweetheart. PA is very lucky to have him. He is awesome...consider yourself in VERY good hands. Even my family misses him. :)
At my consultation on 12/27/2007 I met the gentleman who would become my surgeon, Dr. Brian Boe, & I can't say enough good things about him. He is positively wonderful. rnrnDr. Boe is a very caring surgeon / doctor & has a terrific bedside manner. (Good sense of humor & just an all around nice person.) He's very patient, doesn't rush through any of your appointments with him, & takes the time to answer any questions you may have. He doesn't have an attitude of superiority, as some doctors sometimes have. rnrnOne thing I've also come to appreciate about Dr. Boe is the fact that he either has a really good memory or he actually takes the time to read his patients' charts BEFORE he goes in the room with them. (I've heard stories, and experienced it myself, of doctors who don't really remember who you are or what took place at your last appointment & proceeds to read up on you while you're sitting in front of him or her. Now I don't expect a doctor to committ every patient to memory, however, I've been impressed with the fact that Dr. Boe is very clear on where I am & what my history is as soon as he walks in the door, without having to refer to my chart.) He's a gem! Oh, and I forgot...Dr. Boe is with Barix Clinics in Langhorne, PA & their general info., number is 800-282-0066.rn
My first impression was that he knew how to speak in a public setting and he knew the procedure inside and out. He was friendly and I felt comfortable with him right away. He wasn't stiff or stuffy. His office staff is friendly and will work hard to help you with all of your questions about the surgery and insurance. Risks of the surgery were explained. The pre surgery \"do's and \"don'ts\" were explained at our first meeting. I would give him a 10. I couldn't find anything I didn't like about him. Which is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or are both great? They are both great!
My first impression at the initial consult w/Dr Boe was that he was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the different aspects of weight loss surgery.rnrnOver time I have also found Dr Boe very personable and a caring surgeon who will spend as much time with you as needed to answer questions and discuss things that are happening with your WLS and body.rnrnThe staff at Barix is TOP NOTCH.rnrnFuture patients should not hesitate to ask lots of questions - he will gladly and patiently answer all of them.rnrnDr Boe is very intune with after care and follow up visits. Barix has an excellent program for post-op patients.rnrnI would rate Dr Boe and his staff at 110%. Both surgical competence and bedside manner are excellent.
I Love Dr. Boe!!! What more can I say. I was very hesitant going in for an \"elective\" surgery however it was Dr. Boe who made me feel extremely comfortable in making my decision. He explained everything to me in detail and answered ALL of my questions. rnOverall, Dr. Boe and the staff at Barix Clinics was the best. My nurses Pam & Debbie were fabulous. They were so personable that I felt like I had known them for years. I would definately recommend Barix Clinics and Dr. Boe if you are considering surgery. You will love being a part of the Barix Extended Family!rnrn
My first impression was that Dr. Boe was easy to get along with and talk to. He didn't try to talk me into Gastric Bypass and in fact, thought that my decision to go with LapBand was justified considering my BMI was just at 40. I'm glad I switched surgeons to Dr. Boe from DR.Pupkova because I want someone who believes in the surgery and will support my efforts. His office staff has always been very helpful and commanding of situations. They took it upon themselves to contact Quest Diagnostics for my labwork after I first made the effort myself. Barix clinics has a good aftercare program but I still like having the daily support of the yahoo list I belong to called SmartBandsters. They've given me more info and foresight than I could ever imagine.rnrnMY surgery went well with no complications. I want surgical competence but bedside manner in this case meant alot to me also.
