on a scale of 1-10 probably an 8 so far...my surgery is Monday, if I wake-up then a 10.

Surgically is more important than bedside, but if they are nice too, than I'm grateful.

Dr. Boe is very kind and gentle. I am 22 so my parents have been coming to my appointments with me. He was very good about that too. He took a lot of time with us to explain the surgery. He drew out what he would be doing as he explained it. My mom had a lot of questions and he was patient and answered them all. He has been great so far. I will have my surgery on 10-23-02. I have met with Dr Boe once, I found him very confident,and informative.

I found the staff at Belvidere were very pleasant.

I was told that 1 in 650 have some form of complication ranging from skin infection to death, That scared me, but so does the thought of a heart attack. I,m the only one in my family who has made it past the age of 38 without either a heart attack or arterial by-pass

9/24/02 - I met with Dr. Boe for the 1st time on 9/19. I was very impressed with his patience since I had a list of so many questions. In my eagerness I know I kept interrupting him but he never lost patience with me and was very kind and courteous. He provided me with answers to everything I asked and then some. I know he has done 900+ surgeries the last 2 1/2 years so know I am in good hands. When asked about the cost, he said it would be $40-$45,000 for everything and that the pre and post visits would be included. He also stressed annual visits for checkups so that they can continue to gather statistics on this relatively new procedure.

Dr. Boe has a wonderful personality and a great sense of humor. He can be very serious yet laugh about the funny things. He was very careful to be sure that I was comfortable. I liked him very well.

I met Dr Boe on June 20th 2002 and
I don't really remember him. But I will
have my surgery on Sept. 16, 2002. I was
just approved on Sept 6th 2002 and he had
an opening come up due to someone not being
ready for thier date so I got it! I am scared
but I don't have many days to be scared which
is good! I will post more later, when I have
had the surgery. I can't wait till it is over.

Dr Boe is a great surgeon. I know because I work with him almost everyday. He is very caring with all the patients at BTC.It helped to talk with him during my consult to help ease my husband's fears.All the doctors are wonderful at BTC but I prefer Dr Boe's personality. I see how he talks to his patients and find him to be down to earth and he shows genuine concern to all.

I FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE IN MY SURGEONS HANDS SINCE MEETING HIM, BUT ALSO WHEN I WENT TO MY FIRST SUPPORT MEETING ALL WHO HAD HIM WERE SO EXCITED FOR ME, AND CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH HIM. HE IS HONEST WITH THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROCEDURE AND HE TELLS YOU THAT YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES FOR WALKING AND EATING WHAT IS OUTLINED BY THE CLINIC OR YOU ARE AT RISK. DR BOE LETS YOU KNOW EVERYTHING THAT WILL BE HAPPENING, BUT ALSO THE THING I FOUND GREAT WAS HE WAS IN NO HURRY TO RUSH YOU OUT THE DOOR AND GET TO THE NEXT PATIENT. HE SAT BACK RELAXED AND HAD ALL THE TIME I NEEDED FOR QUESTIONS ETC....I FEEL I HAVE FOUND THE BEST. I WOULD SO FAR RATE THIS DR ON A SCALE OF "1-10", A "10" AND I AM SURE THIS WILL NOT CHANGE AFTER THE SURGERY.

I am 7 weeks out and have seen my surgeon Dr Boe 2x since surgery i feel great and feel he addresses all my question with the utmost help and caring, I could not reccomend a better man to help anyone get through a tough decision like wls.

Dr. boe was the best! He made me feel like a lady when I walked into his office at 312 lbs. and also at 162 lbs. You could really tell that he cared about my well being. I am forever thankful.

I have met with Dr. Boe for my consultation in May, and he is awesome!!! He is extremely nice and doesn't rush you at all!!! He answered all of my questions and made sure I understood everything. I have spoken with other people about him, and they all have nothing but positive things to say about him!!! YOU ROCK, DR. BOE!!!! :)
