William Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak Hospital
At one point I had waited for an upper GI in a wheelchair, in a hallway for 1hr and 30 mins. My legs pumps didn't work at all the first night and the aids kept forgetting to put them on after I was back in bed. I complained numerous occasions that I was having a difficult time breathing and until the doctors nurse came in the next morning, nothing had been done. Monitors where going off the first night all night long, hallway telephones were ringing all night and then there was another patient yelling thur out the night, I had to ask them to shut my door to get some sleep.
I can`t say enough good things about Dr. Bacal. His surgical competence and bedside manner are great. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to have weight loss surgery. Dr. Bacal was nice and cordial when i met him. I do continue to be impressed with him. I have become comfortable around him. But unfortunately he is moving away. I am not looking forward to meeting a new surgeon but that`s life. I do wish him and his family the best in there new home town. Sincerely, Sherry
i had a rough time my first night of surgery my roommate an older woman had visitors who mad sooooooo much noise and stayed beyond visiting hours. i was receiving morphine so it really didnt bother me. but that next day around 10:00am she started getting visitors and they were really loud i complained they stayed until 9:30pm.around 8:00pm my dr. saw me crying on the end of the bed so he had me moved into another room. which around 3:00am i was awakened by sounds and a door closing. come to find out the roomate had her husband or boyfriend in bed and they were having sex. i threw a fit and lets just say i ended up back in my original room. but besides that the staff were wonderful even the nurse asst's. I truly pray that they start putting all bariatric patients together instead of separating us.
