Saw him once, and once after surgery - after that never again.rn

Very happy with the surgery. Everything wentrngreat and my recovery has been non eventful. rnHe's very personable and caring.

My "roommate" was allowed to run her television 24 hours a day at full volume. She also had her lights on and called the nurses station on average about every 5 minutes. She kept me awake most of the first night. When I complained they gave me a pair of earplugs. I asked if there wasn't some "quiet time" requirement and they told me that there isn't. So I think that an improvement would be a requirement that they telephone, televsions, etc. not be allowed between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. or something like that.

I was very happy was my first choice of surgeons, Dr. Obeid, but when he because unavailable, I was switched to Dr. Wagner. rnrnI have been extremely happy with Dr. Wagner and his staff at Hurley Bariatric Clinic. Also, his surgical team was great, especially the nurse anesthetist. rnrnI highly recommended Dr. Wagner. He has a wonderful gentle bedside manner and he is very knowledgeable and caring.rnrnI want to add to this now that I am 10 months out - I would NOT go to Hurley Barartric even though thought their surgeons are good. Their after surgery care is so awful that I would not recommend them to anyone. Please, if you are considering surgery, don't go to Hurley!!!!

I was not extremely impressed with my care as the one Nurse kept giving me a medication that did not agree with me until I told my surgeon! They never offered to help me get wahed up, so my sister helped me on the 4th day post op! Other then this it was a decent stay. My surgeon & his residents were excellent!

It is a great Hospital

The first time I went to a presentation on the surgery I met Dr. Bacal and Terry and I was very impressed with their camraderie. Terry knew right away what needed to be done to get my surgery covered by the insurance and she walked through every step with me. I was approved and had my surgery on 8/29/07. Both Terry and Dr. Bacal were there and I knew I was in good hands. They both came to my room to check on me numerous times during the day. If I have any questions, all I have to do is to e-mail Terry and she will answer me quickly. You can tell they both care about helping people becoming healthier and leading a healthier life. I recommend Dr. Bacal 100%. He is a true, genuine, caring doctor, and sometimes those doctors are hard to find!

Dr. Bacal is everything you could ONLY hope for in a surgeon!!!! From my first meeting with Dr. Bacal to my 6 week check up he has been wonderful. He has one of the BEST bed side manors I have ever seen for a Doctor. You never doudt for one Sec. that he doesn't have your best interest at heart. Terry is Dr. Bacal nurse. Terry is wonderful. Caring and only wanting you to do the very best. rnOakwood Hospital was just GREAT!!! The nursing care was unbelievable. Gentle, caring and making sure you feel very special. rnrnIf you are thinking about this surgrey, Please for the LOVE OF GOD... Go see Dr. Bacal.. I promise you... I recomend DR Bacal to everyone,He made me feel comfortable and i trusted him with my life on that surgery table.He was with me the whole step and so was hes nurse Terry.They are awesome people.There office staff was real nice and friendly.They were good about answering any of my questions and calling to remind me if i had a appointment.The future patients should know that they can count on Dr bacal and Terry for anything and they are always there even when they go on vacation there still on call and will always call you back the same day or even with in the hour.They told me the risks of surgery,The dont hide anything they tell you the truth and show you how to go through this big change in your life.Dont matter what they always engourage aftercare program. There bedside manner was good,and there surgical competence was good.When i was in the hospital they came and called all the time..And made sure i was healing good and being taking care 0f.
