William Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak Hospital
Dr. Wagner was very nice and sat and spoke to me and my mother for an hour and a half. The nurse had to come and kick him out because he was very late for his other patient. His office staff are wonderful. Dr. Rubenfeld will be assisting him during the surgery. They always perform the baritric surgeries together. Hey 2 surgeons for the price of one!!!
My concerns are that they forgot to maintain my medications while I was recovering. I went into withdrawl after leaving the hospital. There was also a sore on my back/butt and I think it was from having the surgical padding under me for 2 1/2 days. They should have caught both those errors, so I recommend having someone alert stay with you at any hospital as these types of problems are getting more and more common in medicine (especially as staff levels are reduced).
A couple things were dissappointing, my roommate had a lot of company which was totally understandable, but sometimes over 8 people at a time were there. Sometimes one would spend the night. The woman was just diagnosed with terminal cancer - I felt aweful for her. I can understand her family's need to be there. At the same time I was in pain and had trouble keeping my gown secured around me, had gas & diahrea and didn't like when her guests open my curtain to get my nurse to help her. Seems like they should have gotten her a private room or paired me with someone who had a similiar ailment. We complained 2x to the staff that I need some privacy and a call button that works. Bottom line, my roommate was a sweetheart, it was her family struggling to cope that stepped on my own patient rights.
