I think that Vanderbilt has excellent doctors, but I cannot sat the same about the nurses and staff. I was there from Tuesday to Friday and I can say that out of maybe 6 nurses there were only 2 that were really caring and sensitive to my needs. I did not need much either because my mom was there with me the entire time. Day and Night!!!!
The nurses were very capable but some of them were rude and most of them were extremely overworked. Maybe I was just unlucky but that was my experience.

I really like my stay and the nurses there. However I was located in a room the was to audible to the Life Flight landing pad and made sleep a little difficult at times. The parking is not the best but I belieev that will be changing soon witht the opening p of another area.

This hospital and staff were great they helped me with everything, and were very understanding and patient.

not very efficient. felt like they were only interested in money...polly the bariatric receptionist was very kind and helpful. RNP an RD were insensitive to my special needs.

I would recommend anyone who is interested in having the Gastric Bypass Surgery to consider Vanderbilt University Hospital for the best care they can recieve.

Although Vanderbilt Medical Center is a very large hospital, the facilities were very patient freindly. They made me and my wife feel very comfortable in every way they could.The night nurse, Rachael went out of her way to make sure that my stay was comfortable and my wife was comfortable, too.

The 1st shift nurses were very insensative. I had one of the worst experiences of my life with the "patient care tech" on that floor. She was constantly making comments about people having this surgery being lazy. I had a 6 hour procedure and thought I was doing very well for that. My family just laughed and said I should consider the obviously undereducated source.

Vanderbilt would have one RN and one nurse assistant on each shift. They had to serve many patients. The nurses were very nice but were extremeley over worked.
